Everyone is entitled to believe in whatever they want to. If you want to drink their koolaid and preach it. Do so. If you see them for the BS artists they are...you shake your head like I do. I emailed Ben Hankinson a while ago and asked him about the offer. Most agents are lawyers or are experienced in contractual law and like most lawyers choose their words wisely. You want to believe that Chris Botta lied??? I don't. Garth had an agent do him a favor. I believe Ben Hankinson lied based on what I read. That said, I'm POSITIVE many free agents DON'T want to come here because of the losing culture, unsteady owner and endless, clueless rebuild unlike the POSITIVE sh!t they say to the press when interviewed. MONEY is the primary reason free agents change addresses, 2nd reason is a chance to WIN. Last is a farking facility. So if anyone STILL wants to buy that story, go right ahead. |

are you talking about the free agent that didn't want to sign because of the arena? i would never believe a player would take less money because he didn't like or preferred one arena over another one or the home team arena is dated more likely scenario is that player took less money because he knew the Islanders don't have a competitive team to get into the playoffs. once you make the playoffs players are paid bonuses but its interesting how wang is destroying the franchise. you have a perpetual rebuilding program AKA Losing you raise ticket prices and the result is a diminishing fan base then you cry that you bought the Islanders out of the goodness in your heart but lets face it journalism is dead. if you have power and money you control the argument. this newsday is complete garbage, its an article to say the Islanders suck Nassau County sucks the Nassau Coliseum is to blame for all the problems and Charles Wang is the ultimate good guy!! and its the same idiotic stupid article newsday has put out over and over again |

Precisely. The people making excuses for Wang's fabricated sob story are quite naive. Wang is not a nice person but wants to be perceived as one. It's all about image. The Newsday article comes out portraying us for the mess we are on the cover on the day of the Jets big game and the morning after a very spirited Islanders win and JT natural hat trick. At least they didn't call us doormats. |

SSSoooooooooo........... Chuck didn't get watt hee wan ted, and didn't want to compromise for smaller deal with a new arena? Typical. If he is a billionaire, and was losing $200 million, that is nothing. The more I try to follow what's going on out there, the I get.If the team does move, and the are no more, which jersey becomes the best "throw back" sweaters? Those say it all.:ph43r: |

Anyone read Newsday today????? Seems Nassau is in so much financial trouble the State is taking over. You can forget about anything happening as far as a new building in Nassau. Better hope something works out with Queens because Brooklyn has no interest and I heard the building can't even be adjusted for hockey. It's either gonna be Queens or probably somewhere in Canada. Very sad but I don't see us staying on LI no matter what happens now!!! |

New York State government controls funds already earmarked for the NVMC. Cuomo is a Democrat like Wong. the State has bond power to supplement the earmarks and can finance the renewal or renovation of the NVMC. Or replacement. Consider it a jobs project. Wanger gets his revenues right now (and screws that up by operating the team's transactions with a lackey) and added seats, increased usage and so on leads me to believe is he can get a similar deal with the 2016-???? agreement, he'll be just swell money wise. Even if he has to give a portion to NYS for bond financing. |

If Wang ever got his revenue stream he would STILL be the incompetent one overseeing every decision, signing etc. Were we better off when the bastid spent money? Unless he drops dead or sells the team, the culture of this team will have to overcome a bigger obstacle than the financial one. |
