al mantoya come on down it's your turn to play you're the Islanders starting goalie

we all know what going happen al mantoya breaks knee arm and hip playing video games in his hotel room freak accident forces garth to make another deal

hey if your a fan of Spinaltap then you know don't get used to the drummer because most likely he's going die now we can make the same assumption with the islander starting goalie

Having Big Al will keep Johnson and Lehner honest!
Chris Botta: Ray, how come you are so critical of the Islanders?

Ray Ferraro: Because they the last time they won a playoff series, I passed the puck to David Volek!

Would be a pretty funny if Dubie came back...but I think he's playing overseas.

So how many injuries thus far happened on NVMC ice?  I wonder if it's a factor as well :dontknow:

Wang fixed the ice......right? Double the condensers, colder ice.....maybe SMG's crew just sicks?

Watching the TML feed last night on centerice and their announcers were going on about how it was a new sheet and in great shape. Apparently NMVC just had the monster trucks in and they built a new sheet afterwards. They had even spoken to the guy in charge of putting in the new sheet and were going on about how good the ice was while they were also showing the clip of Poulin's injury.

Please for the love of god, do not send Poulin to whomever did DP;s knee surgery or hip or Sillinger's hip or anyone else.

Send them to Dr. Jobe or some other top notch sports surgeon. Whomever has been doing our surgeries the past 5 years got his degree from a Phillipino school that advertises on match book covers.
I miss these :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: and want more of them

Kevin Poulin's painful-sounding injury during warmups Tuesday--a dislocated left knee cap that will require season-ending surgery--was a freak accident.
But here is an interesting item to note:
It wasn't the first time Poulin suffered the injury.
Back in his days for the Victoriaville Tigers of the QMJHL, Poulin suffered the exact same injury while playing a game of soccer for pre-game warm-ups.

I'm no medical expert, so I have no idea if sustaining said injury once makes a player more susceptible to re-injure it, but this is hardly encouraging given the Islanders' harrowing hard luck with injuries to goaltenders lately.

We are damned as a hockey club. It's not bad enough that he gets seriously injured, but to have a young good prospect with a recurring serious injury? :fear: Only us.
I sold it all, retired and moved to Fabulous Las Vegas!

Wow, that sucks.
Poor kid. I remember they were anticipating having him start in Montreal.
Instead his season ends, now this news just doesn't bode well for the future.
His or ours.

Saw it today. Thought that if I forgot I'd read it, that it wouldn't be true.

Let's be optimistic (says OTH.....so that says something!).

He is having surgery to repair a recurring problem and has ample time to mend before training camp. He seems a smart kid so he likely won't Rick up his career by trying to get back on the ice too soon.

Can anyone find any link as to whether he's has the surgery before? I never heard anything, so this could be the fix for his issue.
"clearly it's Rick DiPietro's stupidity that's put the islanders in this situation getting into an altercation when a game was over..." Keith Jones on VS

"But the Coliseum became a repository for all the team's troubles, a convenient scapegoat. There were suggestions that no major free agent ever would set foot in such a decrepit place. We have two words for anyone making that argument: Fenway Park. History says free agents would play in an old boxcar if they got enough money and had a chance to win." - Mark Herrmann

God bless and we all in Islander Country hope for a speedy recovery for, what I believe could one day be, the next goalie to lead us to the Stanley Cup.

Even if he isn't, the team's ready for a Burke while we search for a Brodeur. Now the owner might still want to hold onto his little Alain Chevrier throughout, but someone will have to make it obvious we have to move forward (without a walker).
