I’ve teamed up with Brad Kurtzberg from Inside Hockey to create Islanders Top Shelf, an Internet show about the Islanders going over recent games, players, and hot topics.

We're hoping to film weekly, but as of yet we'll have to work out the details. I'm hoping everyone enjoys it. I'd like to include Islanders Country members if they are willing. I've got some ideas too for people that don't want their face on TV but have something, positive or negative, to say. PM me if this is you.

It really means a lot to me to have this video, and I am extremely proud of what we did yesterday. With that said, I know there is a lot of room for improvement and it WILL happen over time as long as we can continue creating the show. I'm asking everyone here to please help support us. Embed the video on Facebook, your websites, Twitter, and whatever else you can to help us spread the word and make it possible to continue the work. The more views/fans we get the more we'll be able to do in the future. Thanks everyone!

We spent the morning yesterday at the Coliseum filming and edited it in the afternoon. My friend, John Miller, did all of the filming and editing. He is a genius and is well respected in the world of DSLR wedding videography. If you or anyone you know is looking for a video of their wedding that will amaze them, check out his website and contact him. Wedding Video You won't regret it.

I watched the first 10 minutes... not bad for a first time out of the box.

Few things I noticed...

Brad dresses much nicer than you :P ;)

But seriously folks...

The two camera thing was a big distracting since rarely were you guys looking at the camera to the side when talking.

Otherwise it was good. Good luck with it. I look forward to the next installment.
I miss these :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: and want more of them

Thanks you guys. Things like which camera we are looking into will be something that we address for sure. I honestly didn't know where to look. I think not looking into the camera is better depending on if I am speaking and to who (Brad or the audience).

We will be able to have some player interviews in the future, and may have a treat for the episode 1.

I was hoping to have it around 5 minutes. Hahah... It ended up being 14 or so. We don't have a set time period, but I think between 5 - 10 minutes would be more appropriate. We're not filling a half hour slot or anything. We just started rolling with the topics and went with it a bit this first time out.

Thanks for watching, and it should only get better as time goes on. Hopefully we'll end up as two dudes you guys like and only occasionally rip.

John, don't change a thing.
Not looking into the camera and using the second camera as a transition is a great way
to portray a more relaxed atmosphere vs a straight on interview.
That Brad guy is knowledgeable. Don't know if he posts here but I like him.
Great production.

Going forward, getting some fan reactions to trades, roster moves or draft possiblities
would be a great with a wide array of positive, negative and indifferent responses via live interviews, twitter comments or message board posts/rants.

Anyway, you do not need my help nor advice. You're doing just fine.

well done sir! Good production value! B camera is great! (just don't look at it ;) )

Video podcasts are the way to go, but don't forget the audio, EQ, normalizing, compression, etc.

Great first run, you should be proud!
