A whiteout is an NHL Tradition. we've done them as recently as 2002. WTF is the harm in doing something fun with your fellow fans? Are you guys seriously this much a bunch of curmudgeons?

Pittsburgh did it in the playoffs last year with the Pens wearing their home black jerseys. Not a big deal. Caps fans wear Red not white

Geeez....don't get ur panties in a knot...it was a legit question. Wear a toga if ya want...

To someone who is unfamiliar w/ the "tradition" it would appear that u have a crowd full of people there supporting the team wearing white...in this case the visitors. Of course, I'm guessing the tradition was born when white was always the home color for decades.

Blue would make more sense...but have at it...having fun is all that matters.

It was born in 1987 by the fans in Winnipeg as a response to Calgary's "C of Red" campaign.

:rotflmao: that was uh, pretty corny.. imagine if Islanders fans ever did something like that..I could only wonder the possibilities of the imaginations here.. :letssee:

and to bring up what sybo mentioned..I did find it odd seeing the pens fans in white during the playoffs while their team was in dark..on one hand it was cool, cause they were showing support. But on the other hand, it makes you look like an idiot, per say....I don't know, just my opinion..

but it is about the fans, like moose said, coming together and having fun with each other, showing support...I just think the color should matched what their home team is wearing..cause isn't that, somewhat the point?

cap fans playoffs or not..always wear red...flames fans were red...etc..

in a sense, no it doesn't really matter to the overly enthusatic celebrated fan..but to the other fan that isn't overly enthusatic, but wants to share in the experiement of such entertainment..they just don't want to look foolish, and per say, do it right? :dontknow: uh, whatever..

I'd prefer an ORANGE-OUT. It is a unique color to our uni. NOt many other teams wear it.

Having the entire fanbase in orange would be cool.

Just sayin...

I'm fine with a white out...usually teams save it for a playoff game, but...well...

Not true about the Caps. It has only been the past three seasons that the Caps have started the "Rock the Red" campaign, but even still, they don't do a complete "red out" or anything like that. Plenty of their fans show up in the white jersey and even more show up in the awful teal, black, mustard jersey from the 90's with the eagle on it. It is just awful.

The white out for teams that have done it has always been done at playoff time for home teams.
Home in modern hockey history has been associated with white.
We have sucked and sucked and sucked under Wang (not a pun, so no jokes please)
that we finally have a fan created buzz and rally for a team that has come together
and we probably need to show some support instead of sarcasm.
Is everyone going?
Isles can wear white jersey's if they choose to.
Even if they don't it doesn't matter.

We will be a bottom 5 team. That's a guarantee. We don't know where they'll play after 2015.
1 game, 1 idea, no big deal. Wear white. If 90% of the 11-13 thousand wear white, it's a success.
Maybe they win and when you turn on NHL on the Fly or VERSUS hockey analysis you hear some positive vibes about our team and the rest of the league does too.

:dontknow: ;)

actually don't the flyer fans wear orange during the playoffs...I do agree it does look cool...

but either way, red, blue, white, green, teal or black...lets just do it and show some damn support...Is it really going to kill anyone to spend a lousy 20 bucks a ticket plus 10 bucks to get in to show a weee bit of support for the team, you know, before they kick the outer bucket..

for all the crap our fanbase takes on a daily basis..it would be real nice to show off if not just for one damn lousy friggen night...but whatever...its just a dream..right?
