Just spoke to my ticket rep. As of WEDNESDAY, 13,000 attendance with a huge run on seats the last 48 hours looks like it may be a LEGIT SELL OUT. As few as 1,500 remain now and they are ANTICIPATING WITH WALK UPS, A TOTAL SELL OUT. :isles:

Dine on it, Haters.

FYI, for those curious:
Team PR tried to get the jerseys switch, Caps declined.

great turnout last night but one of two things happened either:

Only the hundred people that read this site new of a whiteout
or
it was a practical joke on me cause i had to wear my old white yashin jersey.

there was nobody in white last night. Definitely more in red at the game. I doubt even 1k out of the 16j at the game. oh well, i guess we will have to try that again if we ever make the playoffs again.

white out? come now..did anyone really believe this was going to happen? I'm sure there are many long time Islander fans that say, if you want a friggen white out..get to the damn playoffs..but whatever, atleast it was talked about..that is what young islander fans are good at.

I would have worn black. I hate gimmicks. Perhaps the players improving should be the reason so many went to the games, but if some want to give credit to the white out, so be it.

That's not true. I visit many different Isles sites and am also on Twitter. The Isles broadcasts even talked about it. A lot more people knew than the people on this site. But as I've said a few times, you're not going to get a full white out unless its a playoff game. I supported it last night and wore white, but it'll be the only time I'm doing it. I have a blue jersey and I wear it to every game, and I'm going to continue doing that.

i did see it a couple of other places... my point was more that there was no more white at the game then usual. I went with 6 people and I made them all wear white and they were all "what the hell are we wearing white for"

anyway what is more important was the very nice turnout.

All of this says one thing. It was a sellout only because numerous Crapital fans attended the game. And they wore red, not white.

Gimmicky thing to begin with. If they want to do it right get a sponsor and hand out white towels or t-shirts to everybody walking in. You will then have the desired result.

That's true, you want 14K waving towels, give them out. But I even doubt that giving white tee shirts will have the effect. Would you put a tee on over your royal blue jersey you wore to the game? Would it even fit?

As far as the crowd...I think that this team is showing promise in areas, coupled with some good publicity about hockey and the fans are coming back. The last promo will help too. $50 bucks for 3 games. That has to be one of the better deals in the NHL.

I sold it all, retired and moved to Fabulous Las Vegas!

Well certainly not to cite Johnny Cash's contributions to hockey.
