It will be deja vu AGAIN. Nothing happening without an arena deal. This is the big offensive signing for 2011. |

I don't agree about Bailey at all. Just think he is going through some growing pains and think he is gonna be an excellent second line center with maturity and playing with solid line mates. |

No offense, but the standings don't lie. The team hasn't upgraded much in the past couple years, save for the potential. I'll still be there in October thinking the team is playoff bound again though, just like this year. |

Why should Bailey get special treatment? I'd agree if he was coming off a 50 point season last year and was struggling this year. Other than a few 2 or 3 game spurts in his entire career, he hasn't done much. The Isles really screwed up with his development. When he was sent to the AHL this season I said at the time he should be left down there all season long, mostly due to the fact that once he was recalled it would be the end of him being able to go down again without being on waivers. The question is what should be done with him now? I agree that he has a ton of potential. I also know that some players develop slower than others. However I think the time has passed to handle him with kid gloves. If Pat LaFontaine could start on the 4th line when he was a rookie then Josh Bailey can certainly earn his playing time also. He shouldn't be handed anything. |

I beg to differ on this point. Garth forgot Bergy's speed and tenacity on the forecheck and PK. He can have Schremp's spot on my team any day of the week. |

Differ all you want, but Grabner (3rd line winger/PKer/Speedster) is Bergie's replacement, and a fine replacement at that. |

To be fair, Garf Garf didn't think Bergy's forecheck and defense was necessary when our all offense Coach Gotruns system was gonna keep play in the offensive zone all game. |

i would not quit on Bailey PA would of walked at the end of the year/does not mean they can't trade him. Chris Botta is speculating that the signing means no big moves in the off season and keeping the #1 if that is the case I agree with it. the Islanders first need to get out of the basement before they make any huge moves but would not mind if the Isles moves Comeau & Schremp for more help let's give Snow some credit here, he's building depth at every position. you can even look at and say the Isles dealt Roloson & #6 for Montoya & Wishart both X #1 picks for a 40 year old goalie and a late pick. time will tell if they'll amount to much BUT NOW you have roster flexibility to add. |

We can't just package crap together- gervais, schremp, & comeau, frans and expect quality in return. Do the garbage men leave prizes when they pick up your trash? If so I need to move into your neighborhood? |

Bergie sucks. He's playing on Vinnys line. I could score 15 on that line |

Who said anything about quitting on Bailey? We shouldn't quit on him. However, the way they have developed him over the last 3 years has not worked. He should be earning his icetime. Lately, he's been playing better and earning it. If he goes back into a slump, he shouldn't be getting icetime. It's simple. |

I loved Bergie's tenacity and effort but I don't think I have ever seen someone have soooo many cherry scoring chances and not cash in on them. He should have been a 25 to 30 goal scorer easily with the amount of good chances he would create. Hands of stone!!! Shremp on the other hand just stinks. Too small, one dimensional, and afraid of contact. Not a good combo of skills if you wanna play in the NHL. |

Just my opinion but this team already has enough 3rd line players. Parenteau is not the answer. Having watched all the games this season (as have a great many of you) I find myself constantly upset by his lackluster effort after his first 15 seconds on a shift. The Islanders need players like Grabner ( who is second only to Stamkos in even strength goals this season) who can perform 5 on 5. Trottier +452 and bossy +381 didn't get those stats by only scoring on the PP. I understand that getting players like that is seemingly impossible but Parenteau is a step in the wrong direction as far as I'm concerned.
