I only saw the 3rd period and saw that. The mustache was yelling his head off at Toronto's bench. Phaneuf wussed out as usual. |

what pisses me off is not only is the league not doing anything about that hit, which is the exact BLIND SIDE HIGH HIT they are supposedly cracking down upon, but the title of the video is called "Meet Mr. Phaneuf" as if it was the type of hit to be celebrated. I can't wait for douchebags Garry Bettman to keel over and for Colin Blow to get fisted in prison. |

SIGN HIM! He's been great for the locker-room and you can feel his energy. I believe he is responsible for the better team toughness this year over years past. From his "doormats" comment to his sticking up for Tavares the other day, he's been a great addition. |

Zenon Konopka says 1st thing he's going to do at home "is take down" Mario Lemieux poster on bedroom wall. Awesome...love it.. .funny how Lemiuex didn't cry hockey was too rough when Matt Cooke almost broke Fedor Tutin's neck last week, or last year when he laid a dirty injury resulting hit on Marc Savard |

+1 The NHL is so far up Mario's and Crosby's ass its embarrassing. Its an embarrassment to the league and the sport. Im so glad to be an Islander! |
| After a narrow victory in 1994, Boston Bruins defenseman Al Iafrate was asked why, in the closing moments of the game, he had fired the puck around the boards rather than into the empty net. His reply? "Empty-net goals are for faggots" | |

I would love a fourth line of Konopka between Martin and Haley. The Snap, Crackle, Pop line, if you will. |

Bring back...PRIDE OF THE ISLAND
|
hmm, isn't this what a captain is supposed to do?weight? weight? where are you? guy goes out there and defends his team on the ice and off of it...yeah, I most certaintly want this guy back on the team..and if the players want it, should vote him captain..though of course that up to the guy currently doing tv shows, ads, visiting children, showing off hockey in china..not that I'm saying its wrong ofcourse..don't jump on me folks.. |

Gillies gets 3.5 minutes a night. Do you want Konopka and Martin getting that much time as well? Martin is JUST FINE on Third Line for right now. He gets more minutes and can be a far better physical presence and protector than Gillies who can continue to yell at people from the bench in 8 more games. Love Konopka's line. Terrific. I wish he had actually said, "I can understand why Mario feels that way because after the previous game in Pitt, I saw Mario yelling at Talbot that hits like that on Comeau were an embarrassment to the league. And I admire Mario for releasing Matt Cooke after he essentially ended Bergeron's career and nearly Fedor Tuytin's. Oh, that wasn't Mario? Then tell him to shut up and get his own house in order." |

Maybe I should've explained this one further. Here is what I would like to see, perhaps the rest of the way this year and certainly next. We have some pieces we need to fit in, so.... Line 1: Tavares between Molson and Parenteau (or, if we can possibly add an upgrade to PA next year, fine) Line 2: Bailey between Grabner and Okposo. (This line will rock the house). Line 3: Nielsen between Comeau and Schremp. (I can see this needs some work, but a two way center, someone who drives to the net and a speedy wing should work). Line 4: Konopka between Martin and Haley. (Snap, Crackle, Pop). Joennsu, Gilles and Colliton all of whom can be upgraded, fill the press box and the extra forward spots. No Weight or Hunter. Your New York Islander forwards. |

Parenteau Schremp Comeau Pick one of the three to keep. Nino takes another spot. Veteran UFA takes the third. Perfect world, of course. |

Okay, Nino for Schremp. I forgot about Nino in all honesty, but that is for next year. The Schrempmeister can move to the fill in players. I guess my point is we have decent talent and if we could roll out a rested fourth line, kinda like the Devils did in the 90's, and steamroll a shift, then get off it would be great. Not a steady rotation, but every other shift or so you rotate them wiht the third line. 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-4, 1-2-3. Like that. I now PK and PP would affect it, but I would REALLY like to see a crash line on this team whose sole purpose is to rough it up. |
