Greeting Islanders Country,

As many of you know, we've been creating a new islanders themed talk show called Islanders Top Shelf. We're working things out right now, and one idea was to include comments or questions from members here on the show. I think it would be a great segment if you are interested, and we'll shoot for adding some to the next episode. Please add a comment or question about the team, your first name and last name's initial, and where you are from. For example:

Michael Grabner really deserves the Calder trophy because he has game breaking ability.

John Z, Northport

Let's try it out and see how things go with it. I look forward to your ideas.

Ronski here, but you can call me Ron S (From Lindenhurst). Just got a question.

There is no doubt in my mind Jack Capuano will get a well earned contract extension. But, my thoughts are on Scott Allen and Dean Chynoweth. Do you think ONE of them will still be around? Doug Weight is sure to be in serious consideration.

Awesome idea, dragoneye

Do you see the Isles moving their first round pick, possibly for a more defensive defenseman with some experience?

Do you see the Isles possible extending Rick DiPietro's contract
now that were solid in goal with him after his last performance.

And to avoid any undo competition for Rick DiPietro
trading away Al Montoya, Evgeni Nabokov and
Kevin Poulin for future draft picks

Thanks

I have a question:

Why on earth does the Isles coaching staff...whether it was Gordon or Cappy, insist on putting Franz Neilsen on the point during the PP?

He holds the puck too long and slows the puck rotation on the PP, has no shot from the point and more often than not turns the puck over.

Most of my questions would involve the draft, so for those I'll wait until you do that show.

My only question for now:

What is your opinion of Jack Hillen? He has very good skating ability, but while he puts himself in good positions to make offensive plays, his skill level is limited and his lack of size doesn't help. Do you guys see him being here over the long term or is he just keeping a roster spot warm for someone else?

This is a great idea John. I set up a link from the main page side bar and pinned the topic.

Thanks so much guys. Your support truly means a lot to me.

Let's keep those questions coming. Don't be upset though if they aren't used though, Led Zep.

The list of goalies in the Isles system is very long, DP, Montoya, Koskinen, Poulin, Nillson and nabokov (well i am not sure where nabokov fits)... how do you think this will play out over the next few years.

This offseason is huge for the club, if your Garth Snow do you target Parise or Weber as RFA'S, or do you go the coventional route of trades? The reason i ask this, is he has not been able to attract UFA'S, so the other two options seem more viable.

Hey guys,

We just got finished filming this weeks show. We won't be able to edit though until tomorrow night. We were able to answer questions about Jack Hillen and the Parise RFA/trade possibility question. Tomorrow we'll hopefully be shooting, but at a minimum we'll have the opportunity to ask Dean Chynoweth his views about the power play including why he chooses to have forwards like Frans Nielsen at the point. Should be good.

Cheers,

John
