I also agree. How many fans are in the stands in a December game will depend on how the team is doing. But, let's assume an out of town group purchase several group packages NOW, there could be a considerable amount of out of town fans at any given game. All I care about is us winning. The last thing we need is bad press because our young fans got all wound up and started fights in the stands over a select group of fans with a sense of entitlement. Hmmm....hey, care if a 45 year old joins you in beating these bastids to a pulp? J/K

would be nice to see some islander fans come out of the closets and buy single game seats so we don't have to deal with any sort of knucklehead fans bragging that they out sold long island fans, and made the coli their home. Very embarrassing. But yet, lets continue to boycott our idiotic owner and town supervisor. Yeah, I see the logic. Its really working people.(note sarcasm). |

Hey Isles fans! I'm from Quebec City and I just wanted to post a quick comment regarding our trip to Nassau! Yep I'm one of the few hundreds (frenchie/frog) that will be in Long Island on december 11th! And I want to clarify somethin' ... we're not going there to prove that we're more deserving fans than you guys... it's just a fun way to make our Nordiques Nation seen by the ligue! And, at the same time, this trip will gives us a chance to see New York Hell yeah I want my team back.. but not at any cost! Teams with a rich and long history such as your Islanders shouldn't go anywhere! PERIOD! And by the way, the guy that started that post "paraphrasing" an article... added some choice words of his own to make us seem a lil' bad! Beeing as emotionnal as we are about hockey, it's no surprise that there's a rumor floating around every day about a possible Nordiques's return ! But from what we're hearing here, Trashers, Predz, and Panthers are the teams most likely to be moved... to the Belle Province!!! Whether you guys like it or not... we'll be at that game rootin' and cheerin' for your Isles meaning no harm! Hopefully making ourselves seen by Gary! while having a blast in NY/Long Island WITH YOU GUYS! In 1995, Nordiques owner group threatened to... and then sold the team because the City and the Province refused to build a new arena! SOUNDS FAMILIAR??? Do you really think we'd wish this to you guys and be the ones tryin' to steal your team??? Anyways... Looking foward to meet some of you! oohh... and by the way... to those that may concern... I couldn't care less that you "insult" me with words like Frenchie, frog or whatever words ( like language as anything to do with ... well... anything)! I guess I'm cool with that since Mike Bossy and Denis Potvin are two of the greatest frogs to ever play this game... with the Isles! BOOM ALAIN! See ya in Nassau, hey! JP SAKIC |

okay. Thats all fine and dandy. But why come to long Island to watch the isles play the trash? Wouldn't your first choice be colorado? Since that was your team. |

The most consistant rumors are about the Trashers... so I guess that had something to do with it...I'd have to ask the guys that organised the trip... and easier to get tickets than it would be if Montreal or the Rangers would be visiting the Isles I guess! Speaking for my self, the only good thing that came out from the Nordiques's departure is that I became a HUGE NHL fan and not just a fan of my Nordiques... and the Avalanche are not the Nords. Since I'm a big NHL fan I kinda like all 29 teams... you'd probably say there's 30, right?! Yeah but I still HATE the Montreal canadiens like I did back in tha days! All that to say that if I could afford it... I'd visit the 29 cities wearing my Nordiques Jersey... but the closest NHL rinks are Ottawa, Boston, NY! And the Nordiques Nation will organise other bus trip in the near future... Long Island happens to be the first thats all! My point earlier was that I think you guys red to much into this! Our mindset was and still is to go to NY watch a hockey game in a building most of us have never been before... and cheer for the local team while respectfully giving the Nordiques Nation some needed attention/tv time! If people notice us and talk, we'll be happy I guess! Will there be a dozen idiot from Qc (that can't handle beer real well) coming along for the bus ride to Nassau... I hope not but I know there will be... there is always some! feel free to kick their asses Lol BUT the vast majority of will be there as the crazy hockey fans we are!!! Can't wait to wear my Sakic jersey! I can understand how you feel about our presence there... that means you care about your team and I can only respect that! hey, you spot a weird looking frenchie guy with a sakic jersey and a Nordiques necklace (cheap bling bling) come say wassup and I'll be happy to buy ya a beer! Well FRENCHIE, it's a pleasure to have you here and your input is quite welcomed. Nothing like getting the story right from the source. I don't blame you for trying to get heard by Gary and you certainly have a good chance of catching him at this game, especially if you guys are making some headlines leading up to it. I just hope when you arrive in our building you won't take first impressions away with you. It is old, and battle worn, but when you realize just how intimate a place it is to watch a game and hopefully there is a good crowd so you can sense how loud it can get, you'll see why the plans were to keep the inside bowl and rebuild the entire surrounding concourses with all the latest amenities, but that is all in question now and may never get done. |

As long as you guys root for the Islanders I won't mind. You guys better have your seats soon because if the team is competitive I think you might have a hard time getting your seats in the same sections. |

Thank you FF for a. having a sense of humor and b. for being upfront and clearing everything up. we tend to go off the handle and jump to conclusions as we are a sensitive beaten down franchise but make no mistake, the die hards here are very very loyal despite their displeasure with ownership, management or direction of the the team. The Coliseum for me, was always a family first arena to watch a game but it has slightly changed with the transition to the latest generation. I like the newer more aggressive young Isles fans. Don't agree with all chants and fascination with songs and side show stuff but as out slogan goes, we're all islanders"

to watch a game between the Thrashers and the Islanders (two teams that could be moved) in an empty arena. We'll be able to sit all together at ice-level, since their fans are nowhere to be found. A new high in low. Can't say any of it isn't true. If I was a Nords fan, I'd do the same thing.
