Be sure to read the New York times on Friday or saturday. They're supposed to do an article on us and our trip to Long Island... A journalist talked to our best radio sports guy (one of the 3 organizers) so the text should be accurate!

See ya saturday

Ah, just a little. :D If I recall correctly, CANADA's French is 250 times better than mine, and he could probably spot ten errors in that single paragraph.

No, the reason I wrote in French, or Franglais really, was b/c my comments were directly solely at our friend Mr. F, who, if he should check this board during his trip, ought to hear some important facts first-hand: Some circumstances have changed out on Long Island and they're not visiting at a good time. Hopefully they'll be good guests. I know our fans are good hosts in regular circumstances, but the current circumstances are abysmal.

Can't quite comfort myself with the "they're just after Atlanta" business. Atlanta is a key market, the NHL will not leave it twice, and struggling team in a 3-team market is obviously a vulnerable target.

Well, the game is over, another atrocious result, but from the TV, it sure looks like our Friends from Planet Poutine were good guests, and we were good hosts. I'll be curious to read the post-game stories, but it looks like everything but the final score turned out well.

I was there, and I walked into the building expecting the worst. What wound up happening was an extra 1,100 Isles fans that were as loud as 4,000. It was nice to have some electricity back in that building. I think the team responded to it, but in the end lack of talent did them in. That building could sell out every night with a playoff atmosphere and it wouldn't change a thing.

The Nords fans were very respectful, even when they "invaded" the lower bowl with about 5 minutes to go in the game. They were drunk and happy, same as I would have been if I had spent 9 hours on a bus. Unlike the Montreal fans who do the same thing and are obnoxious and rowdy.

Got me thinking... I wonder if there could ever be one game where Islander fans could do the same thing. Just pick one night off the schedule, and just come back and be loud and proud just to show the league we're still here. Try our best to manufacture a big game atmosphere. Then after that game, go back to usual business, having 4 digit crowds. Would send a nice message that we're still around, that we're a dormant fanbase. Usually the home opener serves as that, but it didn't this season.

Maybe Fan Appreciation Day? Usually gets a decent crowd anyway. That would probably be the best night because its the last home game on what's turning out to be one of the worst seasons in franchise history.

It was just nice to have a buzz in the building again. Because there is nothing better than a hockey game in that building with the electricity in the crowd. And it definitely wasn't the craziest I've ever seen that building, not by a longshot, but it was nice to get a taste of what that's like again. Tavares' first game was great, but before that it had to be the playoffs vs. Buffalo. One game over the last 3 or 4 years... its just sad.

Last night got me thinking about the reality that in 2015 the Isles could very well move. After seeing the passion from those Quebec fans, I would like to see the Islanders move to QC. They would be well appreciated, well loved and supported like no other available city. It's like a kid you would put up for adoption, you'd want the child to find a good family with good parents to nurture and provide a wonderful life for them.

Hats off to the Quebec fan.

orange to red, island to province of Quebec and the Nordiques logo where the NY used to be.

why not.

They can show Wang and Snow how an NHL team is not only built, but surrounded by NHL capable people and press that holds them accountable.
