I got nervous after reading the bio on Kim Johansson, C, 23! But the other players all seem like middling type players except for Nilsson. I still will hold out hope fpr Petrov and to a lesser extent Kabanov, but most of these players may never leave the Bridge. Its good for the depth, but none of them seems like a stud except the goalie. Use a couple of these guys in trades may be the best bet.

Matt Donovan signed to entry level deal out of Denver. I didn't expect him to leave early.

Yeah there were rumors a couple of weeks ago that he was gonna turn pro. Selfishly as a fan I'm glad he did. But time will tell if it was the right move for him. Either way, with Ness, Donovan, de Haan, and possibly Kessel being slated for Bridgeport next season, as well as Poulin and Mikko in the nets, I will definitely make the trek up to see a game or two next season. And there could be a few new forwards in that mix too.

Snowy- do you remember Autoracer from the MSG boards several years ago? He lives near the bridge. And even though he is a Rags fan, he went to a lot of the Bridge games with his son because he was a true fan of the game. He asked me a few times to come up for a game and I always regretted not getting there. When you have young kids, its hard to take a 2 hour trek to take in a minor league game. Have you been to the Bridge a lot?

Oh yeah sure I remember him. Great poster, used to enjoy talking hockey with him. Yeah I've been up to Bridgeport a few times. Honestly it depends where you live on the Island. If you live in Western Nassau (like myself), as long as you make it past the Throgs Neck in a reasonable amount of time you can make it up there in an hour and change. If you live in Suffolk, the Port Jeff Ferry takes you within walking distance of the arena. I've never done it, but it seems very convenient. Here is the link: http://www.88844ferry.com/ToursEvents/tabi...17/Default.aspx

If you decide to drive, the arena is right on the side of I-95. They have a few parking lots in close proximity to the arena. The arena itself is nice. It's a typical minor league arena, seats about 10,000. Any seat is a great seat there, so I wouldn't worry about buying the best seats. They also don't draw very well, so you could always move around. I remember the last time I went me and my buddy kept moving behind the net the Tigers were shooting each period. I haven't gone in a couple of years because they haven't had any exciting prospects playing there. The last time I went was to see Okposo. I will definitely go next year to get a look at some of our young prospects.

I hope Kessel gets signed to bridgeport, hes already huge...

6'2 210 pounds, and a pretty good offensive game.

Islanders prospect Brock Nelson, selected in the first round (30th overall) this past June, was taken off the ice on a stretcher during tonight's Frozen Four Semifinal.
A UND spokesperson confirmed via text to Newsday that Nelson suffered a lower-body injury and was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

UND's Nelson took a hard spill into the boards at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul in the first period of the Fighting Sioux's match against the University of Michigan Wolverines.
The 19-year-old Warroad, MN native has eight goals and 13 assists in 41 games for UND this season.

Hope he's fine.

He's going to need to compete for a spot at Bridgeport, let alone the big club. We've got a lot of young D-guys making the jump to the pros next year.

I am DYING to see what happens with Blake Kessel!

I would love to see his name on the back of an Isles or Tigers jersey!

me too! This news came over late last night. Kid is too young for a serious injury. This better be minor!

I was watching the game and saw it happen live. At first I thought he just got the wind knocked out of him, but the way they took him off the ice obviously looked much worse than that. Hopefully he's okay.

You may not have to go that far to see Donovan. Apparently, they feel he may be close enough to joining the NHL this coming training camp.

Ugh. I read that today on twitter. If Donovan CAN play in the NHL that's great. But there shouldn't be room for him because we should be adding D in the summer. This organization is so confusing.
