If you recall a few months ago there was supposed to be a major announcement in April which never happened. And the saga continues.......blah blah blah. |

No sir, hate to say it but it is you who is missing the point here. The overall scale of the project was cut in half. Half = 50% which is what most news outlets reported including Newsday. The housing was cut between just under a third. The Mickey Mouse hand picked media used the housing to plead Wang's woe's. Semantics. No, not D'Amato...

So this is a plan to announce a plan? It all sounds vaguely familiar. If the casino goes on as planned, can it bypass the ToH? |

It's a plan for a plan. Political leverage. Great timing. Time to fire up the fans. Drum up ticket sales. Then when the bad news comes, they can say they tried, but they have your investment. There are MANY layers for something to go through. Many obstacles. Keep that in mind.

Well, at least Wang has the County Exec back on board again (and vice versa), and since the County Exec and TOH board are part of the same political party, perhaps local concerns will be "resolved." |

Can he sing? I just wanna hear the arena will get done without all the extraneous BS. A new arena and parking lot will sure make the neighborhood look nicer. Hempstead's renewal spending will help. And with prices dropping 8% on housing, maybe the area can improve.....or not. |

There is a LIRR station at Belmont, right? They'd have to serious remodel it, I suspect, and technically I believe it's in Queens. |

I will bet anyone that if this deal is for the current Coliseum site and includes a casino it will never ever happen. Bellmont is another story and would be quite interesting though. |

Gambling in a gambling establishment or gambling between to colleges? Which one makes sense? |

The casino doesn't necessarily have to be at the Coliseum site for the two to be tied together. I'd suggest that everyone wait until tomorrow before passing judgement on this. Who knows what they're going to say. |

it's a smokescreen snowy. "plans" for if they can't get their way there, they will explore all options. Wang will paint himself as the victim again. terms like "economically viable" will be tossed around. in the end it's an attempt at leverage. a casino will never happen at current site. could happen many years form now at Belmont and the biggest travesty in this is, Wang needs POSITIVE HOPE to be sold so he can sell tix packages. |

Steve, when the Casino stories started to come out, Elmont supposedly came out in support of a Casino at Belmont. I live VERY close to Belmont. That area is in deperate need of an economic revival. If they've changed their mind to put the Casino at Belmont, there's not going to be any opposition. |

BTW, the rumors coming from elsewhere are that the Islanders will be on the hook to pay back the bond. Supposedly that has come from some Isles ticket reps. Just passing it along... |
