Yep Vin. This is time to rejoice!
Brendan Shanahan will replace him.
Or that's the rumor according to TSN's Dreger.

yep, officially on TSN site now.

Quote:

NHL senior vice-president and director of hockey operations Colin Campbell is stepping away from his role as head of NHL discipline.

He had held the discipline role for the league since July of 1998.

Sources tell TSN that Brendan Shanahan will likely take over, but there could be somewhat of an overhaul of how supplemental discipline is handled.

More details to follow.

It's about time, although he is replaced by an ex-Rag and Devil. Oh well. Still good news.

I like the replacement choice. I've always said that the league should have an ex-player who was not a goon and had great TALENT to play this game. Campbell sucked as a player, he sucked as a coach and he sucked in the position of dean of discipline.

Shanny played the game at an incredibly high level and while a physical player wasn't a goon. His playing experience should give him a far superior insight and ability to dole out punishment for cheap hits and the like.

I hope Shanny cracks down on some of the BS we see occasionally on the ice and the BS we've seen come out of Colinblow's office in the past.
I miss these :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: and want more of them

While this is terrific news...it could also mean the Isles will be more likely to bring back Stache the Scowler

A few suggestions for the very wonderful Spasm of the lower Colin's job opportunities.

He can get a job on a fishing boat as the master baiter.

He can replace that "Can you hear me now" guy. By the way, no, we can't.

He can join the circus as an ass clown.

He can be Arnold Schwarzeneggers traveling secretary.

And finally- I can really see him as the sausage in that weiner race they have between innings at Milwaukee Brewers game. He would definitely "beat the weiner".

That's all I got.....
