Nice try LED but that was NOT what he said. :nono: He did, however, lessen his stance on "absolutely not" which is a good thing.

Based on recent info like the environmental study possibly taking 16 months to complete, and also based on the fact they'll sell the place out, the players would be all for it, the Barclay management team gets at least something out of the move and that it simply makes sense, I think this has legs.

I hope that in the negotiations to get out of the lease in Brooklyn, they use playing at the Coli as leverage. Even next season in full. What do they have to lose? They aren't selling Brooklyn out, attendance is actually close to the Coli's capacity, so why not? make the locker rooms bigger, add a few bathrooms and get it done.

The only thing that pisses me off is those lowlife politicians on Long Island will view this as an "I told you so" win, which is plain bullshit.

There will be games next year at Coliseum...there will most likely be 1-2 full seasons of games there after next till Belmont arena and LIRR hub are finalized. The pre Belmont hard line stance by Bettman was just PR. What happens behind scenes diff form what gets reported and disseminated. Bettman was not there by himself representing NHL...7 others joined him as this is happening. Opt out coming soon...more details after that. Enjoy. Tailgate anyone???

That would be great. As one who treks to Brooklyn only occasionally since it's a shithole and a hassle I would welcome games at the Coli once again.

And just my opinion, but I wouldn't be surprised if in negotiations with the current group at Barclay's that they come to an agreement to play next season at the Coli, not in Brooklyn. Works for everyone. Barclays gets rid of their annoying tenant, players get to live and play on Long Island and I get to tailgate.

Life is good, my friend.

I was in the Coliseum yesterday. So, $200M to make the outside look like a giant slinky and to slap black and white paint on the inside. Fantabulous. Magnariffic. Long Island really is the place where money goes to die :dontknow:

I'm reading where they are thinking about splitting games between the shithole in Brooklyn and the Coli. So, some questions-

How do they do that?

Weekends in Brooklyn, weeknights in Nassau? Ranger games? Season tickets? Playoffs?

And the most important question is John Tavares. Does he really want to stay here and play in two rinks for 3 years (that is how long its gonna take, bet on it), still have to play in that shithole in Brooklyn, not know when the new arena is gonna be ready and play on a loser? I mean, if we are losers but so far he hasn't been in the finals for 4 years in a row or anything, so, yeah, losers...

Just make the move to the Coli and be done with it.

Can you imagine Barclay's being absolutely empty and the Coli selling out every game? I can, and it WILL happen. And you KNOW the idiots that run this franchise will ONLY package tickets at BOTH places. You will NOT be able to buy packages of games only at the Coli. Bet on it, for sure.

So I think there is a lot more riding on this decision than they are letting on. And it could end up costing us Tavares.

So choose wisely, grasshopper.

By the way, the LIRR guy says he has "concerns" about the station at our place. Says something about train lines, capacity etc. Then, in a tweet, says "we'll do whatever we can blah blah blah"

Why do I get the feeling its gonna take a lot of behind the scenes payola to get this done?

And no timetable. Meaning for twenty grand you can pick the date.

Islanders splitting home games between Coliseum and Barclays Center

UNIONDALE, Long Island ó The New York Islanders are coming home after all.

It's not a permanent move but, according to Newsday, the Islanders have agreed to a deal that calls for the team to split their regular-season home games between Nassau Coliseum and the Barclays Center in the years leading up to the opening of their new arena at Belmont Park.

Details of the deal are expected to be announced here at the Coliseum on Monday.

The permanent New arena at Belmont isn't expected to open until the 2021-2022 season ... means it will never happen
an The New York Islanders are coming home at the Coliseum full time in the 2021-2022 season :punk:

Let's see how observant you are...

Never mind, I'll just tell you...

Everyone in this video has a white jersey EXCEPT Yormark, who has a blue one. So the guy from Barclay's is given a different color jersey than everyone else. Freudian slip or intentional? :dontknow:
