1. Be courteous to others. 2. It is expected that everyone posts with a reasonable amount of literacy. Mind punctuation, capitalization, word structure, and general grammar. Perfect grammar is not required. Just explain things the best you can with a fair amount of detail so that others may understand what you're trying to say. Do not speak in 1337. 3. All characters and techniques must be reviewed by an administrator before they may be used in the role-play. 4. Avoid double posting. If you need to correct or add something in your previous post, there is an edit function. The only exception to this rule is when no one has replied to your post for 48 hours. After this 48 hour period though, be sure to post rather than simply edit your previous post. This will make it easier for everyone else to see that there is still activity in that topic. This rule is particularly important during fight scenes. More on this topic can be found here: Replying in Fights 5. A single character should be in a single thread. If you wish for your character to enter a new thread then you must have them leave their current one. 6. Understand the aspects of role-playing. What you know and what your character knows are two different things. 7. God-modding is forbidden. Your character may never be unfairly better in any shape or form and decisions another character makes are not for you to assume. There are many forms of god-modding, but all of them concern excessive control or power. Avoid it. 8. Characters are allowed to kill other characters in this role-play; however, they are expected to do so in an appropriate manner. This comes down to a matter of common sense and respect. Killing an enemy role-player from a rival country is very different from killing an ally role-player in a spar. As far as the story is concerned, the latter closes more doors than it opens. Be mindful of your choices. 9. Everyone is expected to be consistent with their original character design. Characters should always be developing in many ways, but suddenly gaining new powers or personalities outside of any reasonable context or event is frowned upon. 10. Avoid out of character conversations in the forum. If you need to speak with someone out of character, either private message them or use the site's chat box. That is why those two functions are in place. 11. When role-playing, always keep track of your environment. When entering a topic, read back on it to make sure you understand what is happening in the area so that you may appropriately respond. Walking into a bar and calling for the bartender only to later find out that the bar is on fire - is a situation you want to avoid. This rule also applies to topics you are actively in as well. If someone throws flames in the middle of a forest, keep track of the fire's spreading as you role-play. 12. Multiple characters played by a single person is allowed, but they must all be a part of the same faction. This is primarily required in order to prevent the possibility of you encountering yourself while on a mission. 13. Concerning multiple characters, each character must have its own account. Exceptions are determined on a case-by-case basis. 14. Your account name must be your character name. |
