I'm not sure that this is in the right place but oh well. I am getting ready to try to do a carb swap on my 89 trooper. I picked up an 87 pup with a 2.3 and a carb so I think that I have all the necessary parts for under the hood. Right now my questions are mostly about the fuel pump. I have read shooters thread and watched johnny's video, they are a tremendous help. In the video johnny just puts in an inline pump and calls it good, but shooter talks about pulling the old pump out and then putting a new pump and regulator in. Does anyone know how much fuel pressure is required for the old factory carbs? I have a relatively new fuel pump in my tank I was sort of wondering about a bypass regulator with my current pump but not sure if that would work. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks Ben |

I was also wondering about the spacer plate that is between the carb and the intake. It has 2 wires coming out of it, what are these wires for and where do the go? Is there some type of heating element in the spacer? |
