Spent all of yesterday installing my brand new Taiwanese motor mounts and my geometry must way out of wak. Where have i gone wrong?
my final mount to install was the drivers side right. as you can see its twisted into place.

and the pin wont line up without the mount contacting it's self. the top meets the bottom of the sandwich.

the old mount rubbed my cooling pipe but never rubbed at this spot and it was cracked in a few spots. Its a bridgestone i think and you can still see the difference in quality. I'm convinced its an operational error and not the cheap parts
this is the left mount without being torqued down.

And the trans mount which looks like its under torsion from somewhere.

Thanks for taking a look.

Hi

I just did mine on Saturday.

I know this might be a insulting question but it has to be asked... Are the mounts in the right way around?

Martin, you've got some real problems going on there. First there are pins that have to line up to the holes is the motor mounting brackets and I can see in the photos that yours are not lined up. I think you have the motor mounts in upside down and you may even have them swapped left to right. When you pull them out look next to the big stud that goes through the motor mount bracket (that attaches to the motor) and you'll see the little pins about a half inch away. These should correspond to the holes in the motor mount brackets. Take a look and see if this makes sense and if you need clarification let me know and I'll post some pics or video or something.

Andrew. Its not an insulting question at all i have thought about that, but I followed the factory service manual and rock autos part #'s for left right.
Its also the orientation which they came out of the trooper

The arrow on the old mount pointed up and its marked right. so i figured from the drivers position I would replace it with the rock auto part # left motor mount because the other side also had a right side motor mount in the same orientation with its arrow pointed up.

so I did order right left specific mounts, still unsure about where your ya judge that from. drivers seat or head under hood.
Johnny no kidding i do have some real problems that stupid pin on the driver left will fit in its corresponding If it was bolted about a 1/2 forward on the frame but where it is now it locks up before it makes it im less that a 1'16 off of that hole. If i flip the mount over it will contact the ?block hangers? on the other side of the nut where there is no hole. much like the drivers left except that isn't a pin more like a nub on the top of the mount and has no pin to correspond with the hole in the block hangers. only thing i can think is flip the left to the right, the right to the left and flip the left so the arrow points down but according to the manual that's not right. might try my old trans mount and see if it stops trying to force everything forward. it looks very dissimilar to the old one as well.
thanks for the quick responses at this point i really need the help "left to right back to left and right :X "

Left and right are determined from the driver's seat. Motor mounts are often marked with "RH" even though they are lefts, I don't know exactly what that's all about but you can't go by that you only go by the pin and then make sure you get them in the right spot. At this point I'd guess they're just in on the wrong sides.

I was under my Trooper the other day tracking down an oil leak and I noticed one of my mounts has the leans too! The rubber mounts are totally leaning over to one side! So looks like one of mine are jacked up too..oh brother!
Dont want Taiwan parts so I will be hitting up Jerry soon..Is it fairly simple to install mounts?
Johnny any tips?

Yeah, not a big deal. Floor jack 17mm and 14 mm tools. I posted a video on engine removal a few weeks ago jump to the part where I pull the motor mounts out.
