Posted this because I've come down with a terminal case The home ownership bug. Repairing my rental house is getting old, Convincing myself I need a new project before I finish the last one is typically my MO. My girlfriend wants to keep a horse and I would like to keep a mule, I grow a garden every year, And we both have a great deal of agricultural knowledge, so a hobby farm seems to be our best fit. That being said we both work 6 to 7 days a week, both of us at different farms in our area. she manages a farm, while i am a maintenance manager for another Thoroughbred farm. when I'm stuck working awful hours at work she will join me after work to help out at my farm, when she is overwhelmed I will help after work at her farm. We already got a lot of farming going on although I think we could handle just a little more. What are your thoughts?
What do you farm or what would you want to farm? "I have been told already I'm not aloud to farm Trucks"

Sounds like it's time for the two of you to cut ties and start or buy your own farm. If you committed the hours to your own endeavor that you're devoting to somebody else's now, your venture would no doubt be a success. It sounds like you 2 are a perfect pair of partners to make something really enjoyable for yourselves.

where a timber farm...130 in fir and alder...we ether sell it by log load to the mills or cut it on are little saw mill...
old mill video

all are equipment is ether up draft carb or old diesel..it all more or less belongs in a museum but we some how keep it going...well other then modern high power light weight chain saws any way...
the latest thing we have is a 80s MS 120 excavator i found for 0.23 cents a pound not a bad deal tell you know its a 30,000lbs its big, its ugly, but it can lift a 26' X 30+" green log on to the mill with ease....

other then that we have a spot about 60' X 60' for a garden......where at 1,000ft and average 6' of rain a year, so are growing season is very much short...compared to the valley floor..
are water is gravity to the house at 15psi and year round 1.25 gal a min, just about a mile of pipe....all gravity
other then that we have a pond thats about an acre and is are fire reserve as fire tanks and equipment is mandatory in summer for logging...

and yes i also farm ZOOs i "think" i have 13......most all pre 88
