Mounted a set of 235/70/16's on my snowflakes today. Add that to my list of things I've learned to do since buying this machine. Drives like a new truck. I'm pretty sure this is close to the diameter intended to be run on these things. My little 4ZE1 was struggling to push those big old 31's around. 5th gear uphill doing 55 with room to spare on the pedal. Can't wait to see that MPG rise!

Yep. Years ago I worked at a place that did it. I could powder coat anything I wanted for nothing. Also had access to welders and plasma cutters, and sand blasters.......oh well. Ifs and buts.....

Tim, Annodize them. Annodized aluminum is the shit. You could make them a color that complements your Trooper.

Would they therefore be "billet" or was that just a word we used in Alabama?

I just read up on anodizing on Wikipedia. Not something I should try in my bath tub.

Apparently they'd have to be sealed right away. I assume that can be a non-detectable product that doesn't alter the finished look?

Anodized kits seem a bit pricey...

As far as my snowflakes, When the time comes, I will see how they look as they are, may paint. I will still have my current steel wheels for swapping out in case of doing anything crazy. I was just curious considering Tim and I both have white Troopers, how these wheels would black.

May be time to do some photoshopping...

cheers

Oh yeah! Black but leave the holes natural? Hell I don't know. I'm just too lazy to do all that.

Just for the record Tim, I had my 15" snowflakes sandblasted , then I used XIM clear primer and a top coat of clear satin urathane.

it's not the paint that makes them look bitchin' it's the sandblasting that cleaned them up and created their new "finish". The clear coat's just to keep them from oxidizing.
