I guess that makes what I swing all day a MFH. A jewelers hammer should be called a pecker. LOL |

Apparently it's not the size that counts, but how you use it.

I'm cheap too! I had 2 good, original NSK half-shafts when I replaced the CV half shafts on Blackie and Red. Since 2 were good, I ordered the 4 boots from partsgeek.com for $32 shipped. They were Dorman boots with the clamps and grease and new lock rings. I cleaned and regreased and rebooted them and put them in plastic back on the shelf for spares. A note about partsgeek.com.........don't order something that you need in a hurry. i have placed a few orders from them and I got everything but it was anywhere from 8 days to 17 days on delivery. As far as your ex manifold goes, i have ordered 2 Dorman brand (probably chinese) manifolds off of fleebay, one for Blackie and one for Red. Fit perfect and still going strong after several years. Oil leaks............just depends on where they are coming from and how bad they are leaking. I can't stand a leak on a DD and have pulled and rebuilt perfectly good running engines just to take care of leaky crank seals. Rust.....again....depends on where and how bad. probably never get rid of it so just drive it and enjoy while you can. |
