Ummm.....the vacuum test was normal. Except when it was stumbling a bit. Even then it only dropped to about 16 stumbled with the engine. Does that tell us anything? Can't get to the compression tester. Will see what I can do. |

What was the reading at idle? What did the needle do when you gradually increased the engine speed? (did it drop momentarily then go up, did it stay still, did it drop with engine speed, did the needle just twitch, did it stay steady did it bounce a lot) Still very curious as to the comp numbers.................... My bet is the ITEC (of course) Maybe not the ITEC, could always be the fuel pump, although less likely since Tim's already replaced it 4 times this year.... Ummmm I mean, Hmmmm. No, can't be the fuel pump. It's probably something inside that shit you got under the hood that looks a lot like that Delorean time traveler... Hey, maybe it's the Flux Capacitor???. Ok, jokes aside, it's the ITEC, probably the fuel pump, but who knows right, could be the IAC, VSV, HIS, MAP, MAF, TPS, PCV, EGR, FPR, Coolant Temperature Sensor, Crank Angle Sensor, Thermal Vacuum Valve, Thermal switch, Back Pressure Tranducer, Elevation Compensation Valve... I mean really.... Hmmmm.... Let's get started... I'm going to start a fire and throw a pot roast in the crock pot, I'll be back in a little bit. |

Compression test to follow. Patrick's on the way with a brand new gauge. Now y'all can bite my ass. I'll be able to say, YES, I HAVE done a compression test. And it cost Patrick 30 bucks to tell his Dad there's nothing wrong with the fucking engine except the fact that when you lift the hood, you don't see a damned carburetor. I'm going to drop the tank and check the short tube on the fuel pump again. Last time it was a large slit. What if it were just a pin hole. We'll see. |

Now that you have your self a compression tester you can go and join Iboats.(boat forum) Those bastards wont even give answers without a compression test first. look on the bright side. It only cost you thirty bucks to realize you simply need to carb it. I'm pulling out the hayns book to see if i can decipher anything. Get back to us in 22 min when your done with that tank drop. Ron. |

140 120 120 130. There it's done. Noticed the fuel supply line leaking right about the same spot I'd have a cigarette hanging out of my mouth while working on the timing and/or idle. Lucky I'm here to talk about it. Patrick is out test driving it right now. Fingers crossed. Well, I don't know if he's got them crossed and trying to drive. But mine are! |
