I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this thread, but I'll find out... Part of the concept for my nation is asymmetric federalism - there's Leinland and its non-autonomous provinces, a semi-autonomous region known as the Derian, a collection of non-ex-colonial autonomous duchies, and some ex-colonies that are now autonomous republics. I envision six of them, and their cultures, languages, etc. are representative of their former colonial masters. Are there any nations with a history as colonizers? If so, I desire to RP these republics as former colonies of your nation(s). Just name them (if you'd like) and give descriptions of your nation's culture/religion/language(s)/whatever else you feel is relevant. If I feel the need for more information, I'll ask. I would prefer it if no one nation claimed more than two republics as ex-colonies, but if there aren't enough colonizers, I'll offer more. I appreciate participation on anyone's part in this. Thank you. |

How about the Colony of New Kistan? It was a miserable failure as far as a nation goes, but its goal was to create a liberal society away from conservative Kistan to allow an escape route for dissenters. The nation is based on a mix of Japanese culture, Scandinavian ethnicity, and German-style technology, as well as a republic as the government and a near-total freedom of personal rights (barring a few notably harmful activities). The place became defunct and chaotic about five years after ts start and was abandoned by the homeland to fall into anarchy. |
