The board came into existence June 18, 2014. The old board was dying. Armed with a credit card, I began buying domains.

Now here we are...two and a half years later, still going strong.

So, let's look at what's happened here in the past year.

We have 124 new members and 243 new topics of discussion were created.

In 2016, we made 30,743 new posts. I almost want to write that number out. We are a small, niche fandom, and still managed over 30K posts. (Take out my drunk posting, and that's still an Dragonstone amount of discussion.)

As of May 13, 2016 we had 1,003,192 topic views...

And today, just over six months later....we have....*drumroll*

1,887,933.

That's a HUGE leap considering it took us almost two years to get to one million. This number includes not just members viewing a topic, but guests as well. Site traffic has almost quadrupled. (Our most popular forum is All About the Cast. Everyone wants to look at those Dragonstone photos of Nik and Gwen.)

At this point, we are getting filming photos and spoilers before other, more well-known sites. (Thank you Dawn, Erin and NamelessPasserby! I have no idea what I would do without you.) As a group, we have written (and in Wacky's case, shredded) fanfic, created some incredible graphics, videos and manips and the art, the Dragonstone beautiful art!!

I love it all, but there is a larger fandom as well, outside the board.

The jaimebrienneonline tumblr has over 1200 followers and gets about 150 notes per day in the off season and 300 during the season. The original post with the most attention is a Gwendoline photo with three or so thousand reblogs or likes.

There have been around 560 fics in the JB tag on AO3 that were added or updated in 2016. I can't even imagine how many words of fanfiction have been written about Jaime and Brienne.

Here, we prompted fic through the Smut Roster and Premiere Fic Collections. Secret Santa has brought us fic and art and manips and videos! (I can't stop watching the Lovecats!) And oh, the round robins, how I love the round robins.

Jaime x Brienne Week 2016 was once again a smashing success with just everything all over.

You all made 2016 an incredible year.

Thank you.

I can't wait to see what 20JB brings us.

I very rarely take part in the fandom life for a number of reasons, but I am very happy to be part of this one. I've been mainly a silent observer for the past years, but I am happy I decided to start being a more active member of the JB fandom, so thank you all for being such great, talented, brilliant people. <3

I want to shout out a huge THANK YOU! to Mikki and everyone else who built this place, keeps it active, well-informed, artistically outstanding and very welcoming.
Despite having only been here for about a week I am very thankful to have found this place. I am looking forward to getting to know you all and to getting involved.

:woot: Those are some excellent stats Mikki! I love this fandom so much. So many talented, dedicated, and wonderful shippers out there who make me even more proud to be a J/B shipper.

2016 was great for our ship and I have a feeling 2017 will be even better! To 20JB! :redwine:

I would like to say a huge thank you to Mikki and Quinn and the moderators for all the work they do. Its fun exchanging ideas and information, and I like the fact that everyone on the board is very kind, always very generous with praise and support. It makes it a particularly lovely place to spend time.
And to be honest I wouldn't be at all as productive in terms of fics and bits if it wasn't for the ideas and prompts that turn up as JBWeek and Secret Santa. Because as you all know, life has a way of sucking time into more mundane things unless you are force to prioritise.
Thank you for 2016....and I can't wait to see what 2017 brings us.

PS And I'm thrilled you are as addicted to Lovecats as I am Mikki .... I blame Ellethom!

Wow! These are indeed dragonstone stats. And even more dragonstone are the people in this forum. The positivity, how we're trying to make fandom fundom, the sheer speed with which the latest news pop up here, the creativity and the mutual support..this forum is an a.w.e.s.o.m.e. place and I'm thrilled to be a part of it!
Thank you Mikki, Quinn, and all the moderators for all your work and here's to 20JB!

Big thanks to Mikki, Quinn, all the mods, and everyone here who makes this place so much fun.

I hope to participate in some more fan activities this year, starting with some more meta and maybe finally joining tumblr.

I have a feeling this is going to be the year we see J/B get official with a kiss and hopefully more.

Mikki, Quinn, and all the other ladies who keep this place running like a well oiled machine THANK YOU for making this Dragonstone place that we can all bask in the JB love. 20JB is the year we will get to bask in JB becoming canon and the shrieks of the dying The Sinking Ship of Incest ship.

A board is nothing if people don't read and participate. You all make this happen. :)

Thanks, Mikki and the other moderators! Yes, the community is needed for all that discussion, but someone needs to put in the time to running it, to making events for people to participate and to making this a friendly internet fan place. Really glad that I stumbled into this place last year. One of my better fandom experiences so far!

Thank you to Mikki, Quinn and all the other lovely moderators for keeping this Dragonstone place up and running. Those are some impressive stats indeed! It's so great to see that this corner of the fandom continues to thrive. Thank you also for the smut roster and secret Santa fic challenges, it's kept me writing when I've been sick and a little blocked this year. Here's to 2017!

Thank you Mikki, Quinn, and all the moderators forming the backbone for this lovely community, to whom I also owe all of my thanks for being utterly kind, Dragonstone, smart, creative, and did I mention Dragonstone?

:dragonstone:

To yet another year of shared obsession.

Shall 2017 become 20JB.

Cheers!

What a great year! Here's to an even better, sassier, hype-ier, and gasm-ier 2017!

PS. Quinn was so so so drunk that Quinn failed to greet everyone over the actual New Year, so herein in Quinn's Dragonstone third-person recompense for such neglect!

Hello! Sorry I've not been around much lately. December was hectic, and then just depressing, and then both at once (hectipressing? deprectic?) and with the littlun off school and the ex staying on my couch for WAY too long, it's been as much as I could do to get half an hour to myself.

Anyway, just to add my thanks to all you wonderful ladies for the outstanding work you do in this board. I do love this fandom, even though appearances may suggest I treat it more like a friend-with-benefits which I bang occasionally when I'm bored. :)

I promise I'm going to try to be more active here (although the fake spoiler thread lost me some time ago and I've no real desire to try to follow it) rather than my usual random lurking. Or actually quite structured lurking - I always check the same threads, in roughly the same order, but as I generally feel like I have little to add, I flit off again silently. Bad Turquoise. Bad.

Of course my New Year's Resolution was to spend LESS time dicking around on my phone, even going as far as deciding to quit FB altogether because everything that everyone posts annoys me. Two & a half days in, I've already made a post, commented on three times as many things as usual, sat up half the night reading fanfic every night (my EX was on my COUCH!), and here I am.

Good thing I didn't decide to start a diet, I might have spent the past three days eating nothing but Christmas pudding and chocolate! Oh, wait. :)

I'm not a huge contributor to this board, but I want to say that you all are wonderful and you have created the perfect place to escape to when everything else is just too. much. Even if we never get another book, another a shot of heart eyes, or another red tent of unresolved feelings, JB is a ship that will not sink and it's thanks to all of you! Here's to another year of new members and new contributions! :redwine:

I suddenly want to be the friends with banging benefits fandom place. THAT SOUNDS HOT!!

The next six months of the hiatus are going to tough with little new information, but hey...there's still this place, still loving JB :)
