Medical-Nin

Medical-nin (医療忍, Iryō-nin) are ninja who specialise in medical treatment and use of medical-oriented techniques to heal others. Becoming a medical-nin requires high intelligence and excellent chakra control. A medical-nin is trained to avoid getting injured in any way, for the reason that if they are injured, then there would be nobody to heal the other members of their team. Medical-nin accompany other ninja on high ranking missions to increase the success rate of the mission and overall survival rate of the squad. Medical Nin follow a strict set of rules when in the field.

First clause: "No medic ninja shall ever stop medical treatment until the lives of their party members have come to an end."
Second clause: "No medic ninja shall ever stand on the front lines."
Third clause: "No medic ninja shall ever die until they are the last of their platoon."
Fourth clause: "Only those medic ninja who have reached Medical Specialist are permitted to discard the above-mentioned laws."

Medical Ninjutsu

Medical Ninjutsu (医療忍術, Iryō Ninjutsu; Literally meaning "Medical Ninja Techniques") is a branch of ninjutsu associated with healing, as well as the manipulation of their own, or anothers' body, practised by shinobi categorised as "medical-nin". The use of medical ninjutsu requires very advanced chakra control, as well as extensive knowledge on such things as herbs, medicines, the human body and even poisons.

The knowledge of medical ninjutsu can be used for a variety of purposes apart from simply healing, such as creating and treating poisons as seen with Shizune who uses her extensive medical knowledge to create a poisonous gas, performing autopsies or surgeries, or attacking a person's body directly, deranging the target's nervous system or sending them into a comatose state by overriding their body with chakra. Medical Ninjutsu in itself can also be used offensively, witnessed in Kabuto Yakushi's use of chakra scalpels in battle, overriding his opponents body with medical chakra and Tsunade has also demonstrated the ability to use medical ninjutsu offensively as shown when she attempted to use medical ninjutsu to kill Orochimaru.

When using medical ninjutsu, a visible aura of chakra forms around the body part using the technique. The color for these techniques differs with the intent of the medical ninja using them, an involuntary effect of the chakra in use. When a medical jutsu is used on ones self, the aura is blue. When used on a patient with the intent to help, the aura is green. And when used on a patient with an intent to hurt or injure, the aura is red.

Med Nin II: Apprentice

An Apprentice to the medical arts is someone who is still learning the more difficult aspects of the human body, but already knows a great deal. There knowledge however is far from perfect as they have still a great way to go before they are acknowledged by their peers as anything more then a student. Apprentices are allowed to use up to C rank Medical Jutsu, and must take the required trait before they are able to do so.

The requirements needed for attaining Apprentice:
- Spirit stat at least 100 Points or higher.
- Must have studied the human body for no less then 10 posts.*
- Must own a D rank medical jutsu and have used it no less then 10 times.**

* The posts may be divided up over many threads if the user so chooses. However, most if not the entire post must be dedicated to the study. It simply cannot be a fleeting thought or the secondary focus.
** The medical jutsu must be used on an actual patient/person, or have been used in practical use or in combat. Practicing will not count towards this objective. Unless the jutsu is something you can only use on yourself, using it on yourself will not count either.

Med Nin III: Journeyman

A Journeyman knows as much about the human body as most doctors, with the lone exception of microscopic entities such as diseases, viruses and bacteria. A medics study of knowledge is never complete. However, the Journeyman is finally acknowledged as a medic, though a green one at that. They will have to work hard in this field to earn respect and recognition through the work that they do. Journeymen are allowed to use up to B rank medical jutsu, and must take the required trait before they are able to do so.

The requirements needed for attaining Journeyman:
- Spirit stat at least 125 Points or higher.
- Must be at least Chuunin Rank.
- Must have studied the human body for no less then 10 posts.*
- Must own a C rank medical jutsu and have used it no less then 10 times.**
- Must have taken and PASSED the Medical Exam.***

*** The medical exam is given twice a year, an IC event in which your RPC must participate in before they can advance. The Exam features both a written portion which tests your medical knowledge as well as a combat portion where you show your skills on the field.

Med Nin IV: Master

A Master knows all. The human body has been conquered and the medic has finished his study of microscopic entities. They are fluent with all commonly known diseases, viruses and bacteria and have probably at least heard of the rarer cases. They are skilled with diagnostics, relying on experience both from reading as well as from the field to match symptoms to a specific case. Masters are recognized and revered as medical experts. Masters are allowed to use up to A rank Medical jutsu and must take the required trait before they are able to do so.

The requirements needed for attaining Master:
- Spirit stat at least 150 Points or higher.
- Must be at least Chuunin Rank.
- Must have studied the human body for no less then 10 posts.*
- Must own a B rank medical jutsu and have used it no less then 10 times.**
- Must have participated in at least 2 Successful Missions as the squads Medic which needed healing.***

*** These missions do not necessarily need to be medical themed, however you must be there as the squads medic ninja. Or rather, a ninja there not to fight but to heal. To earn credit, your team must have encountered trouble enough that would warrant you needing to use your skills. Healing something simple like a paper cut or a bruise will not suffice. The more gruesome the damage the better and the rank must be of your rank or higher.
