Vas was having a good day, he'd finally managed to make a custard filled balloon. It was time to have a little fun. So it was now that he stood on the edge of the Kodachigakure's path's with his payload strapped across his chest in a sling. In this position he started to narrate to himself in his head.

::Today class we learn the art of the prank. Now today we are going to do things a little backward and pick the prank before picking the target, but only because we have this nifty balloon. Ballooooon! Ahem. Anyways in this case the next step is finding our target.::

With a small smirk he leaned a bit further out looking at one of the paths a bit further down.
::Lets see.. we have our basic market, but it looks like business is light today, that's good in this case. Less collateral when it's not needed. Hmmm we have a lady.. ah a mother looks like, given the miniture wailing banshee hanging off her arm. Looks a bit grumpy, but can't blame her, hachling like that has gotta be stressful. She could probably use a laugh, buuuut I don't think a direct strike would be a good thing for her today so we'll leave her be. Hmmm who else? Ah, hello Mr. greasy fur, er hair. My, look at him chatter, seems a bit full of himself. Oh and look how everyone reacts to him. Barely tolerated, especially by the females. Perfect. Hmm next we need a point of attack and choice of scapegoat or disguise.::

This time he looked up and around considering his surroundings.
::Well.. what do we have here... basic vine like structure... holes probably drilled by birds of various sizes.. normal 'building entrances' why couldn't they just have normal buildings with roof's here? Hmmm alright plan set. Now for a little use of the 'alter self' spell...::

Bringing his talons together he formed a few seals before taking on the appearance of a large eagle using henge before jumping off the edge and taking flight. It took a moment for him to swoop down in a large loop, gliding more then flying. Sure enough there were similar vines down here and the dragon took perch on one hanging down from the larger vine like platform. He was just above the sales man now and took the moment to carefully pull out the balloon and line things up.
::Now.. just take in angle, winds.. target movements aaaaand... release. . . BINGO! Objective achieved! Take wing and escape!:: A large grin was spread on Vas's scaly face that didn't show trough with his henge's avian features but he couldn't help but make one last swoop back and arround to examine the scene before making an escape into the higher levels. The man who had been his target was now covered in a creamy goo shouting angrily and feabaly tossing a few bits of fruit from his stand at the dragon. The cream colored custard that had been in the balloon made an interesting contrast with the mans now beet red, almost purplish features. With a smirk Vas also noted that the child he'd noted before was now laughing which was bringing a small slightly suppressed smirk to his mother's face as she tried to hurry the kid away. ::Looks like we had some bonus achievement's as well.::

Once the dragon was finaly away from the scene of his mischief he finaly allowed his henge to vanish and started laughing to himself.

Now heading down the street, if one could call it that, Vas examined the sights.

::Lets see, that was fun but what next. It will take some time before I can prep another of those, water balloons maybe. If I went with gas they might think I was trying to terrorize people. Hmmm oh whats this? Seems we have some decorating going on. Banners like leaves.. pumpkins.. apples. A harvest festival! How delightful!::

He lept up onto a bench and sat down watching people move about as things were carried this way. There was also decorations made with corn, large drums, and kegs of one drink or another. There were even people carring fabrics and pieces of odd outfits. Eventualy he found out what this was about when he over heard two genin chattering about costumes.

::Oh! A costumed celebration too! This should be quite fun! . . Ah but what to wear.:: He snorted a small cloud of green fumes as the though struck him. There were really so few things for a dragon to wear! Well especialy if you consider their woeful lack of other dragons in this land.
::I'll just have to make something myself or get someone to make it for me.::

::I wonder if there are any rules to what people are allowed to be for the festival. Are you allowed to be anything? Can you only be something related to the harvest, like the pumpkins and apples? Or can it be anything? What is the theme?::

He took wing again flying upward looking over the shops.

::I need more clues, more information. What is it all about. Hmmmm.::

Finaly he found what he was looking for. There was a shop selling what looked like premade costumes. Landing to get a good look at the costumes Vas quickly confirmed his first suspicion, there weren't any costumes deseigned for a dragon like him. There were a few for one's pet, all designed to make one's pet look rediculous from what he could tell. However, there was an interesting assortment of costumes for humans for him to look over.

::Hmmm, so many options. What to choose.::

-OOC: this thread is lonely...-

Wandering the streets of Kodachigakure, Hosca kept a decent distance between herself and the masses around her. Although she was used to humans, she wasn't used to these... exodite humans. That was the closest thing she could think of when trying to describe them. The Cresistauead* lacked sophisticated technology to begin with, but on this world they seemed to lack even the basics from her perspective. Not to mention their silly traditions. Pumpkins, strange costumes, a general darkness that is lightened by their jovial air... another world, another set of traditions to learn, she thought to herself with a heavy heart.

Her suit and mask coupled with her small stature marked her as one of the Cresistauead youth in costume, she could tell that much. For the next little while at least, she could wander the streets without drawing attention to herself. More out of curiosity than out of a desire to purchase something, she wandered into a shop that was selling clothing specifically for this festival.

Picking through the costumes one by one, she flinched at the quality of the material. Neither strong enough to absorb blows, nor flexible enough to allow free range of movement. Easily torn if performing manual labor, and not always that easy to clean or maintain. The lack of practicality would have been forgiven if the costumes were aesthetically pleasing, but whether the clothing was actually poorly made or her arrogance made it seem as such made little difference; nothing met her scrutiny without being discarded.

Disappointed, she turned around to leave when she bumped into someone behind her. Or perhaps something since she hit it at knee level. "I didn't notice you behind me, please excu.... K-Kurom**?" Giving a short bow she began her apology, only to be shocked by the sight of a dragon in front of her. She had encountered them before on the Exodite worlds she had visited in the past, but the ones she had seen were massive, fully grown beasts that the Sierann*** rode into battle. Without really thinking, Hosca reached out with a trembling hand and tried to scratch Vas behind his ear, where the exodites had told her was the "sweet spot" for all head scratches when it came to dragons. If Vas let her or simply sat there and did nothing, she would then squeal and tackle hug him to the ground. Otherwise she would snap out of it and look away in embarrassment, although her facial features would all be hidden behind her mask.

There were so many choices but none seemed very good. Sausages, witches, odd goblin looking things and many others. Why couldn't they have anything good? He shifted a few steps to the side to look at the other side of the table only to bump into someone. He turned to say something but they started first. It was a young girl by the looks of her and she was already dressed up. Why she had been looking at the costumes was beyond Vas, but as she said an apology she called him an odd word he didn't recognize. She certainly sounded surprised to see him, though that was expected from most people he met still. What wasn't expected was when she started reaching out with a shaking hand toward him.

::Well she's defiantly nervous, could have some fun startling her. On the other hand, people here seem to keep an excess of pointy things on them, and they teach their kids to fight. Startling her might not always end well. Ah, heck with it, I've missed one of the more opportune moments anyways.::

In the end he let her scratch him and to be honest it wasn't all that bad. Now his unlike the dragons the Exodite knew of his breed was known for burrowing into the stone of mountain sides and had developed a much bonier crest and his sweet spot was actually closer to the top of his head beneath one of the larger ridges. That said he still wasn't going to object to the treatment. Well, that is until she did something else he wasn't expecting. She made squeal that sounded like it was of either of excitement or as some strange battle cry, he wasn't quite sure. However as she made it she lunged at him.

Now, dragons are intelligent beings, however they are still animals with instincts none the less. When you are approaching an animal that is not familiar with you there are some rules that should usually be observed. In particular, it's usually best if you do not make any sudden rapid movements as these can seem threatening, particularly if you are larger then said animal. It's also best not to make sudden loud noises as they can startle even the most tame of animals. Doing both together is highly inadvisable. The reactions of the animals, once startled, often range from fleeing their perceived attacker to striking out at it aggressively. In the case of copper dragons, who are one of the more dominate species in their typical habitat, well...

Vas let out a sudden hiss in his startlement and raised up onto his hind legs partially as his wings unfurled and tilted slightly, pointing the talons on their dewclaws at the girl. As he did this one of his other defenses kicked in and the spines on his back raised up.

Although it should have been obvious to her from the beginning that it wouldn’t end well, still Hosca went with the tackling. By the time Vas was rearing up to meet her she was already committed whether she liked it or not. Moving quickly, Hosca began the dance of death, but without bringing a weapon into the equation. Rather than strike at Vas and try to actually hurt him, she leapt up placing her hands on his head and vaulting over him with a flourish and a twirl, landing behind him and seating herself on a nearby table in one fluid motion.

”Peace Kurom,” she said with a laugh in her voice. ”I think I may have startled the both of us. I haven’t seen one of your kind in decades, and I’m not used to being so… free. My emotions got the better of me, my apologies.” Hosca took a moment to dust herself off and held out her empty hands in a gesture of nonaggression. ”Shall we start over, or would you like to continue this fun elsewhere as to not damage the property?” Physically she was relaxed, but her soft eyes kept watch for any signs of an attack, hoping it wouldn’t come to that.

Much to Vas's surprise the strange girl ended up jumping over him. He stood still a moment between the tension of his statement and confusion. Apparently the girl had been as startled as he'd been, so after the moment of confusion had passed he let out a laugh. With her suggestion to move elsewhere he gave a nod and started walking around her to continue up the path. Finaly, he started to speak.

"My name isn't Kurom, you know, it's Vasithenakthouss, or you know Vas. That's what people here call me because they usually can't pronounce the syllables right. Funny thing with humans, with most they think a hiss is a hiss but there's all the different inflections and how you use it. Usually only magic users pronounce things right, well them and Gnomes, but Gnomes always have had that thing with details. But, yeah most people mispronounce my name, last time I think I was called some kind of a pastry. It's actually fairly common with Copper dragons when we receive out names from our parents. Sort of an ongoing joke that never ends. I once met a fellow who's name meant Rising Wind but tended to get mispronounced Breaking Wind. Nice guy, tended to live up to his name though. Especially when he'd been eating lemons. Could literally kill a horse with one burst I saw it may self one time. Didn't think it was possible until... sorry going off topic again arn't I? Do that sometimes, just jabber on. Do you have a name?"

With conflict successfully avoided, Hosca grinned widely behind her mask. It was one thing to fight with purpose, but to fight due to a misunderstanding seemed silly. Following silently behind Vasithenakthouss, or Vas as he liked to be called (understandable with that name, she wasn't sure she could pronounce it. Obviously Monkeigh would be incapable of something she had trouble with), she listened to his rambling.

It reminded her of her days on Angaur, a friendly conversation between two individuals keeping each other company just to pass the time. Of course there the threat of invasion was ever present, what the inquisition would have given to be able to find the planet and order an Exterminatus. So nothing like Angaur. Hmm. She brought herself back to reality just in time to hear him ask for her name.

"Hosca Dess'nam, formerly of Craftworld Alaitoc. I was aware your name was not kurom, but that is the word in my language for dragon-kind. Saying 'hey you' would have been rude. " Pausing briefly, she then went on. "If you don't mind me asking, what is your purpose in being here? I do not believe your kind is common on this world, or if they are they have been kept secret from me."

Vas was quiet a moment as he continued to trot along the path.

"Hmmm what is my purpose here. Well, that's a hard one. I could say I don't really have one, well unless you get all metaphysical and stuff. Now that's complicated but I couldn't say I'd know it yet, does anyone? Umm but yeah, I got here because of an accident really. It was all grumpy mage, magic going mad, then BAM! Fish fingers and custard. As for where I'm from, well I'm pritty sure this isn't Gollarion but yeah that's where I'm from."

He pointed to her with the claw on his wing.
"You however, I've never heard of this Alaitoc, so what is your purpose for being here?"

He spread his wings taking flight and started to circle around her as he listened. Although partway into her answer he'd stop in front of her and one of two splitting paths.
"Oh, not this way, lets go up. there's a rather grumpy fellow down there with an excess of custard. Um, no relation to how I got here. More of an effect I suppose. Sorry, you were saying?"
He fallowed this with a look of feigned innocence
