Uninteresting.

The writer, Drew Karpyshyn, did not write KotOR II - he has no idea what events they had in plan. This all means that the leading up events, or hints of Revan's actions, in K2 might be completely off in this novel.

Who reads novels anyway?

Well I do!

I have read just about everything published by Lucasarts, including those damn kiddie novels.

I am glad they are doing a Revan novel, since I've come to except that they will never make Kotor 3!

I am a big Expanded Universe fan, mostly because of the great lengths they take to include everything into one single timeline.

The events of Kotor are taken into account just as this whole new Jedi future comic that came out several years ago.

I would have been happy if they did not sped soooo much time doing the Clone Wars, and move on to something the fans actually like, but George needs kiddies to fall in love with Star Wars. He needs young kids to grow up into all of us.

I can't wait for this book!!! I was excited to learn Revan's story in the game, but I think it will work better to have a whole book dedicated to it. Plus, it will actually take place in Revan's time, and not just be people talking about him 300 years later.

The same man who wants Darth Bane and Palpatine to be the same person is put in charge of Revan's story. Great.

Ooh, I haven't heard about that one yet... when did he try to pass that?

As for the book, I'll try to maintain a positive outlook about it. After all, he says he's going to include the Exile, and so long as he doesn't hurt her character, that might be cool. It'll also be interesting to see one of the original writers' take on the characters - to see his interpretation on their canon versions. I've got high hopes for this, though I still can't guarantee I'll accept it as what really happened.

The fact remains, though, that, no matter how good a job Drew Karpyshyn does, Chris Avellone would do better. KotOR III was his story - he wrote everything leading into it, and no one would have done better than he.

The last Bane book. Of course, this was after he gave Bane daddy issues and turned the Sith into misunderstood states' rights activists.

Well, this novel has our answer about Revan and the Exile...

Forgive me, but I already feel ill... Of course, this is tentative, and possibly false - but it certaintly sounds to fall in line with the upcoming MMO.

Its not even a well written RETCON. This, kiddies, is why I wont even touch TOR with a fifty foot long stainless steel pole.

Sorry...Ive heard that he kills the Exile off in a very stupid a** way...Just one of the many issues with this, and the fact that it will more than likely tie in with TOR is absurd. This guy basically took the idea of Anakin having dreams of people he loved dying, and used it to fill the hole as to why Revan went looking for the Sith. Plus, he somehow got Bastila pregnant before leaving right away after completing the mission... I would curse left and right right now if I could, but I wont lol.

Here's two preview chapters of 'Revan.'

I read both, and quite frankly, I was expecting more from Drew Karpyshyn.

In this book, his writing comes off as amateur-ish, but I know he's capable of far better so it almost seems as if he's talking down to the reader, who he knows has played KOTOR.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still looking forward to reading it, but only because it contains the characters I know and love. If this style of writing was in a brand-new storyline, I wouldn't have read another chapter.

I was expecting Karpyshyn was going to bring his dark/bleak perspective of his three Bane novels to Revan, but it turns out that's not the case.

If you think this opinion is harsh, well, check out the opinions of some of the Star Wars fans on this forum. Some go as far as to say they've read FANFICTION on their site that's better. Wow.

I hope they aren't implying that he had a beard during KOTOR.

Yup, Drew K does say that 'Jesus Revan' is cannon.

That's one of the things that really put a sour taste in my mouth.

What! Where does he say this?

Hopefully he picked up the beard after KOTOR.
