Like the topic says, what kind of music do you prefer? What are you listening to right now? For myself, I'm listening to Avenged Sevenfold - Save Me, but I listen to all kinds, Rock, Rap, Reggae, Country, Techno, the whole shabang. So, let us know! :D

Too Much Wit, Not Enough _____

Excluding Instrumental as it's not listed, I'm more of the Rock, R&B, Jazz, and Techno type, and some Trance (provided that it doesn't fit into the Techno category that I think it does.)

Rock, country, jazz, alternative, metal, and instrumental. Lately I've been listening to a bunch of soft rock songs but I'm trying to broaden my interests to all kinds of music. If R&B is on the radio I usually don't mind listening to it.
Decks:
Raptor Rush
Chimera Control
Arctic Storm
Onslaught
Holy Dragon
Fortress of Light
5-Civ Control
DragonStrike

I essentially use Pitchfork as my compass for discovering new music.

www.pitchfork.com

What I enjoy about the site is that they have a decent to knowledgeable grip of almost any genre. I would say they mainly advocate hip-hop, rock and electronic music approaching a mainstream base but they often have leftfield feature articles, for example something like "The Best 20 Metal Albums So Far This Year".

Some of my favourites, any of you guys into the same stuff?

Animal Collective, Aphex Twin, Arcade Fire, A$AP Crew, Beach House, Boards of Canada, Bon Iver, Burial, Clams Casino, Crystal Castles, Cut Copy, Daft Punk, Death Grips, El-P, The Field, Flying Lotus, Four Tet, Hot Chip, James Blake, Kanye, LCD Soundsystem, M83, Modeselektor, Odd Future, Oneohtrix Point Never, Panda Bear, Radiohead, Rustie, The Weeknd

I'm a jazz major so I obviously listen to a lot of that, also enjoy a lot of hip hop and occasionally some dubstep (not enough dubstep to actually vote for it on the list though lol). Overall though there are songs and aspects of every genre that I like except probably metal/screamo whatever.

Cool thread.

Question: Has anyone ever listened to any Vocaloid songs? If so what are your favorites?

I voted for "Jazz", "Rock", and "Reggae" but I listen to a really vast library of music. As a musician, I typically stick with rock/jazz oriented odd-time signature stuff, but I've played in a few "pop" (4/4, I-IV-V-I progressions, etc.) rock groups.

Some of my favorite artists include Giraffes? Giraffes!, The Beach Boys (Brian Wilson's masterpieces, not the surf rock stuff), Elliott Smith, Jimmy Cliff, Major Organ and the Adding Machine, Animal Collective, Grizzly Bear, Radiohead, Quasi, Sublime, Neutral Milk Hotel, and Mastodon.

I'm mainly a Rock fan more than anything else. All different sorts of rock, from Ska to Hard Rock, to Industrial to Death Metal, etc etc.
