I will be honest, I don't know whatever this is but the name suggests it's a television series about zombies. Have any of you watched this? If so, spill it but not spoilers please, I do aim to watch this sometime... eventually. |

The Walking Dead was at first a creator owned comic published by Image. It's still going strong and will soon be printing issue #100. I have a subscription to it and look forward to reading each issue month to month. 2 years ago they made a series for it on AMC. I have seen the first season and enjoy it a lot. As soon as it's released on DVD I look forward to seeing season 2 which wrapped up a few months ago. Season 3 will start in October. The 2 different media are telling alternate stories of how things end up working out. In the comics there was a character that died much earlier than in the comics and in season 2 there ends up being a few characters who die a lot sooner than they do in the comics. I look at it as getting a televised what if version of the story that I know already from the comics. Hope my info helps and at least I haven't spoiled anything for you when you get around to either reading or seeing it (or both). If it doesn't end up satisfying your craving for zombie fiction there is also a book line that Robert Kirkman is co-authoring to highlight more of what is going on in The Walking Dead universe. |

Good stuff. Gets a bit stale at the beginning of Season 2 but it's well worth a watch as a whole. |

Yeah, there were a few hard to sit through episodes, but once you get past those, season two gets much more interesting. |

Well I was fortunate enough to get The Walking Dead Season 1 on DVD for $2 at a pawn shop, so I started watching it last night. Finished the first disc, which was the first 4 episodes, and despite the slow start with the pilot episode, it has gotten better and I'm now fully enjoying it. It really shows how people can still be decent people in an indecent time, plus you can see the emotion in people. Maybe I'll get lucky next time I visit and they'd have Season 2 in stock. |

Hey, if you look, you can find it. When I saw it in the pawn shop, I had to ask if it was the same price, and they said yeah, DVDs were $2, same for seasons of TV shows. I couldn't lose out no matter what so I got it. Honestly, I paid $15 total recently for A Beautiful Mind, Angels & Demons, Defiance, Gattaca, Looper, Season 1 of The Walking Dead, and W.. |

It's an over all pretty meh tv series. It started out great and suddenly became this hit tv drama series instead near the end of seasons 1 and all through season 2. Season 3 DID get better but it was still too drama oriented and seems to entirely not focus on zombies at all lol |

In my opinion what the Walking Dead gets right in both the comics and the AMC series is that zombies are a background issue to an extent. They never stop being an issue though and often come into the foreground whenever they are encountered say as a "herd" or just happen to get somebody who was being sloppy in their survival vigilance. Even more important what they both also get right is that your other human survivors are your biggest problems either internally with your localized group or rival bands or even bigger communities of survivors that you're now competing against. It keeps it a very human focused drama that way and I feel you get better character interaction that way. Glad you're getting to enjoy season one affordably Jason! Still rushing out to support Kirkman as directly as I can to buy the DVD's at a store as soon as they become available. I don't have cable so I don't get to watch it as it's released on AMC but it's not a good enough a show to justify getting cable for. Besides I like the comics better warts and all. There are some bad cons to the zombie "movie" that never ends. : ( |

You can actually watch the series online. I won't say how or where but that is what I'm doing for Season 3 cuz Netflix only has the first two seasons. |
