Too Much Wit, Not Enough _____

As this appears to be a thread dedicated to validating one console's dominance, I will type now that it's not. Let's say the reason isn't merely about hardware as it is about the little things that make each one great. Now for me, I wholeheartedly support PS3 in what I own at present but what's got me thinking otherwise is based on one fact: there's more variety in 360 than PS3.

Sure, there are a plethora of games I can't get elsewhere but the PS3, so having put so much into it makes me wonder why I'm thinking of making the transition. I base my entire reasons on this: there's a Pawn Shop in town that sells games at a fixed price (no matter what game it is,) and I went browsing through them all. PS3 games were $15, 360 games were $10, and other last gens were $5. Not much in the way of the older gens but I realized while browsing that there were way more titles available for their $10 price tag for 360 games than PS3 games. I know PS3 games use Blu-ray but the fact that I found a number of games for the 360 than the 1-2 titles for the PS3 made me think I found a small trove.

So now I'm thinking of either getting a 360 and keeping the PS3 (but going for non-PS3 titles) or completely transitioning to 360, leaving the PS3 behind (or sold, whichever comes first.) So that's my little beef with my current PS3 and 360 problem. What do you all think? Is there any reasons for me not to transition or should I consider jumping into both consoles?

I'd say jump into both, since there will be games you won't/can't get with the other. But if you have friends with a 360, ask to borrow theirs if they aren't playing it and just buy games for it, since the next generation is looming over us.

There are a number of reasons why I prefer the PS3 over the 360.

- PS3 controller is better for fighters, which I am playing right now. (I used to play Halo on the 360)
- PS3 controller's buttons don't break as easily. Just by playing Star Ocean 4 on the 360 my X button broke.
- PS3 has free online play
- My PS3 hasn't gotten YLOD in the first 2-3 years I've had it but I got RROD on 360 after a year of playing
- No constant updates every week/month for the PS3
- Custom themes/wallpapers can be added to the PS3 easily with a USB stick (not sure if you can do this for the 360)
Decks:
Drakon Assault
Chimera Control
Arctic Storm
Onslaught
Holy Dragon

You have a point Red. The reason is I wanted more variety in games I could purchase because at present, I'm going through PS3 games like they were big people's munchy stuffs. Now if they started doing some other old PS2 classics HD'd for the PS3 (*cough*.hack//IMOQ*cough*) then I wouldn't be after 360 as much.

Actually, the Red Ring of Death doesn't really show up on the newer versions you buy at retail. Microsoft had a rocky start but they upgraded their console so the old problems just don't really pop up anymore. I have to agree with the free online and the updates do get annoying when I just want to play a game, but I like the exclusives for the 360 better over the PS3 (and don't tell me I can just play those exclusives on the PC, I don't have that good of a laptop).

The lack of a .Hack// HD collection or sequel has been my only complaint about my PS3.

I've had three 360's red ring on me. 'Nuff said.

Buy/borrow a 360 until you are done with those games, but I wouldn't recommend selling the ps3 just yet. The are still some awesome titles to come; At least one more full Final Fantasy game, a new metal gear game, sequel to Sotc and not to mention the two persona titles near the end of the ps3 lifecycle (5 and hopefully 6 as well).
