Anyone else here into Game Development and/or computer programming?

I graduated from Full Sail University last year with a bachelor's degree in Game Development - and I have to say that I learned A TON while going to school there.
I'm not currently employed in the Games industry, yet, but I do have a programming job so I'm at least stepping in the right direction.

And oh, for anyone interested, this was the game my team made for our final project at the school:

And don't tell me that it's awesome, cause honestly, it sucked XD

I've done a really small bit of coding in C++ when modifying Cockatrice (not really enough to call it anything) and RPG maker. I've always really wanted to learn how to do some basic code, as I've been wanting to make an online-only free-to-play TCG client that knows the rules and interactions of the cards within the game.

If I had the time, I'd really like to make a Kaijudo client like the way you described. Where it knows the rules and card interactions.
Unfortunately, I just don't have that kind of time. Coding is so interesting to me, I love being able to make things happen that people didn't know you could do XD

C++ is the main language I know. The game I linked in the first post was made entirely in C++, and all the art assets were created by Game Art students in Maya.

Does OCGTN know the rules of the game? From what I gather, it doesn't...much like Cockatrice, Redshark, or Apprentice.

It doesnt yet because there's no need . (it just makes games slower.)

Its not really hard to implement card effects really...just boring. But you can mold it to your own wishes. I am currently working on Kaijudo , and waiting till the Base set comes out :p

Well Zero, once you make that, I'll be happy to help test it out XD
What are you using to make your Kaijudo client? It's been so long since I've started my own project from scratch, i feel so rusty when it comes to programming right now x_x

You can play OCTGN already, ZeroVash is just working on improvements I think but for the most part it is 100% playable. You have to manually drag the cards around but it's not too bad. You can even do 2v2 tag duels for fun (I haven't done this yet though). Once ZeroVash changes the background, I'm going to make videos of it so people can see how it works. There used to be a topic about OCTGN on here but it got removed along with the entire Duel Masters section. :/

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to link directly to it so just search up Duelzone and you can find it.

I'm gonna be honest, it just seems kind of weird. I would prefer a background that relates to Kaijudo, or a background that shows the zones so it's easier to place the cards where you want them.

I second this idea. I'm sorry if I came off too harshlty on OCGTN. I think it's a wonderful program. I was speaking more from a coding perspective. I'd like to make a program for my own TCG, as well as others, that could learn card interactions and basic game mechanics (ie; stack, chain, shield blasts, etc)

Learn Java :p
I'd rather not produce it in Java. Java is a memory hog and really outdated. But I suppose it's a start. Like I said, this has just been an eventual dream of mine, not something I am actively pursuing.

One of the few exceptional Java based games is Minecraft, but that game is such a memory hog. I wish Notch would have gone with a more modern framework.
