My next card up for discussion: Waterspout Gargoyle. This card is great, but kinda situational in the sense that the higher the cost of the creatures you bounce, the more effective he is (if you use him to bounce an opponents creatures). I have him in my 'Blurple Hand Control' deck at 1, and has proven himself on more than one occasion. Sometimes I use him to bounce my opponents stuff to reestablish board control, and sometimes I use him to bounce my own Razorkinder Puppet or fumes. I love the versatility he brings to the table, and while I prefer the name Aqua Sniper from DM to this one, but it isn't as bad as some of the other name changes (I'm looking at you, Queen Orion). |

What I loved about Aqua Sniper from personal experiences was self-bouncing where you'd hit one of your opponent's big cards and Sniper to establish some small control over your opponent's board state. With Gargoyle, you have a recursive bounce effect for 8. He has 5000 Power so for those of you wanting to abuse him beyond his double bounce effect, [card]The Great Arena[/card] would like to have a word with you. |

I loved Aqua Sniper from Duel Masters. Bouncing an opponent's creature and himself so you can play him again next turn is just awesome. I agree, I do not like this name change. Aqua Sniper sounded a lot cooler.

Oooo. I haven't considered the idea of using his effect to bounce himself. That's just naughty. I like it. |

Holy crap. In my naivety, I never even thought of this as a possibility. It's like using Rothus (back in DM) as a suicide card instead of destroying another one of your monsters. I guess I always just assumed they only meant your opponent's side of the field. That's really interesting, though. Thanks for that! Haha. edit: basically, what ZodiacLion said. Yep. Very good as a spammable Veil Vortex. And bouncing 2 at key moments is very necessary too. Loved suiciding Rothus the Traveller. Though usually you had a better chump to get the axe instead. Hope he returns in Kaijudo. Fire is good but by itself has the hardest time of all civs getting rid of big fatties. I could see Rothus as still very playable at a cost of 5 instead of 4. And we've all seen the usefulness of getting past lvl 4 to avoid the really cheap removal. |
