Launcher Locust - opinions?

Yea, I'm in a tribal kind of mood right now... >.>

That ability it gives to Megabug's is pretty handy, I believe. Paired with Three-Eye Dragonfly - you could do some annoying things - even if just for that turn.
Not to mention the size of some of the Megabugs, such as Deathbeetle - making it so your opponent can't just chump block could be a big difference in a game.

I think this card is really good. I also like the theme it brings. For only -1000, your Megabugs (including Launcher Locust) can't be blocked by creatures with less power. I think that's a very good trade-off. I'm glad they are making Megabugs/Giant Insects big and strong again like they were in Duel Masters.

Megabugs just seem like they can be viable, and this guy helps. I may try and make a megabug deck, and actually get some use out of the 5 Deathblade Beetles I own >.>

I like the flavor text more than anything else about this guy. Making your guys harder to block is a great ability and using a Three-Eye Dragonfly to boost a [card]Splinterclaw Wasp[/card] would be incredible. Lots of fun types of decks to make just w/ the base set. Easily the 2nd best nature tribe to work w/ after beast kin. Darn Tatsurion in all his many guises puts them over Mega Bugs.

Since they have the amazing card [card]Rally the Reserves[/card] what I'm looking forward to playing is a Storm Patrol deck. Too many of that tribe are skirmishers to be able to make a deck w/ a win condition w/out Rally in my opinion.

I actually have a blocker focused deck that has performed fairly well for me (I'm gonna post the list after I finish with this post). But on the topic of the card, Imagine if you played Megabugs and also ran Power Surge (+2000 for everything until end of your turn). Not even the almighty Grand Gure could stop your attacks.
