Depends on what the ??? creature is...He is hefty on cost, but might be the deciding factor late game.

The first part is most likely "When this creature is put into the battle zone". Like Hammer Dragon, this guy will depend on how much Dragons you run. He is definitely meant to be a game winner with his shield breaking effect. With just one [card]Hyperspeed Dragon[/card] you can pretty much break all of your opponent's shields assuming they have no blockers and Shield Blasts.

I like him much more than Hammer Dragon. If the ? is when he comes in, he is a pretty good card if used right, mainly with Hyperspeed. If it is "whenever a Dragon Creature" it is even better. His effect seems to count himself too. If I am right about that, that means he is pretty much a bigger version of Dark Scaradorable. However, I doubt Control will play him over Dark Scaradorable since they may not have other dragons to begin with so he would just be a higher cost. Maybe a W/D/F control would use 1 of him though. It could encourage F/D or F/D/N Hyperspeed Decks though.

I agree with gilaflame, it depends, but overall that's an awesome ability. It's got a cool name as well, so that's a plus.

Eluding Abyss

Im wondering if darkness will get some more control based dragons when dragonstrike infernus releases because then control might consider running him unless it is in an aggro/control type deck that uses darkness

I am sure Dragonstrike Infernus will have more dragons for each Civilization; at least 1 more. Chances are the Very or Super Rares will all be dragons. However, if they are worth using is less guessable. TBH, given the set name, I could see a Dragon for each Civ at each Rarity (so 5 for each Civ in total). Some could be Evolution Dragons even!
So I am sure this card will gain enough support for a pure Darkness Dragon Deck, and if not in Dragonstrike Infernus, maybe the next set. The real question is "Will the other dragons be worth it?". I mean they could all end up being 8+ with effects worse than this card. To support this card well, Darkness needs a 5 and 6 Cost Dragon, maybe even something like Hyperspeed (e.g. All your Zombie Dragons gain Slayer or whatever).

I was thinking the same thing. I am completely expecting the supers to be dragons for sure and I'm not too sure about evo dragons... But I could definitely see a dragon giving your other creatures the ability slayer, we kinda saw that with Quakes the Unclean.

Also, if they do take some of Dragon support from Duel Masters, we could expect more Fire Birds. I know there were a couple for Armored Dragons; one increased their attack and another lowered their cost. So far, I don't think there have been any cost lowering cards.
We may also get Dragon Hate like Dracobarrier and such. Personally I am not a big fan of this idea, but it is possible.
And Evo Dragons may not happen yet, but it is possible. If the Supers are all Dragons that would give each civ 1. Then let's assume the uncommons have a cycle of Dragons too, so each has 2. Then maybe the Rares could have a cycle of Evo Dragons. However, they would probably be lower cost, maybe even 4 Cost, so they would be easy targets for removal. Or they could be like Evo Fury Tatsurion.
However, it is probably more likely that we will see Multi-Colored Dragons than Evo Dragons.

And I just realized how off topic we have gotten XD

Being able to combo with other civilization dragons makes this card better than I was expecting. I'm expecting a resurgence of the Hyperspeed Dragon deck adding the Darkness civ to the F/N backbone.

This is a finisher card in a Hyperspeed deck. I am thinking two decks:

W/D/F/N Hyperspeed
W/D/F Hyperspeed

I see the other Dragon from this collection being the better of the two. A good combination putting them together in a collection. Don't get me wrong there. It will be interesting to test going into next month to see what we can come up with.

Is it sad that I am more interested in the "5DRA" than anything else in the picture? However, I will say that the artwork is pretty terrifying; way more scary than Zhaitan. Personally, I still am not sure if I can really judge it's effect. It really depends on how many low cost Dragons there are. But by turn 9, you foe probably won't have too many shields left if you're playing dragons; unless you purposely hold back which just gives them more time to kill your stuff and build resistance.
Personally, I probably won't be playing it. The good news, it will probably be dirt cheap since a lot of people will be getting 3 of em and not using any. This Dragon Collection seems to be striking similar to the MTG Holiday Box.
