So what do you guys think of our newest look into Dragonstrike Infernus? I think he has a pretty solid ability, and a Level 5 for 5000 power isn't exactly terrible. And being able to cheat in higher cost guys is NEVER a bad thing. I think he could potentially see some play in a dedicated Armored Dragon deck - which i DEFINITELY feel will be a thing in some fashion after DSI is released.

I think his ability is neat. Use him with Hyperspeed and I think it would be sick.

On 5 mana, summon hyperspeed, one 6 summon him and he gets fast attack and can attack and possibly win a battle depending on what your opponent did last turn and summon another dragon and that on gets fast attack as well.

Very interesting indeed. :P

Turn 5 Hyperspeed.
Turn 6 Herald - use to summon Foulbyrn
Turn 7 - Start going absolutely INSANE with summoning dragons.

Again, Armored Dragons can REALLY be a thing.

In a dragon deck that utilizes ramp, hyperspeed (or if DSI has a better version of it) and this card could be absolutely devastating!

Nice card. I really like the combo someone posted on facebook: Turn 5 Herald, Turn 6 [card]Chain-Lash Tatsurion[/card] (although this would require you to have a lot of Dragons in your hand). The name and art is really cool too.

Btw, why does it say 6DSI? Wasn't the last set 4EVO? Did I miss something?

5 must be for the DragonMasters Collection.

Edit - Yep, Hammer Dragon Foulbyrn shows 5DRA for its set.
Also, Chain Lash, while a nice little combo I don't think is that great. I'd rather play creatures that are really good even on their own.

6DSI? I've been calling 5DSI >.< Darn promo set.
As for the card; I think it is epic! I defiantly am going to work more on my Hyperspeed deck now!

Playtested this tonight in a F/N Hyperspeed build. Card can be sick. Several ways to use it. What I love about this card is that is says "You can play a non-evolution dragon from your hand." It doesn't say armored dragon, just dragon. ANY NON-EVOLUTION DRAGON. Think about that. ;-) This card can be really, really brutal. Add that with the new dragon coming in Dragon Masters and we have a new viable Dragon deck on the way. I am going to be working on a couple builds for this. Should be fun. :-)

5/5000 is decent, but it's ability War Cry is really great. I wish it was just when it attacked, as it wouldn't require actually winning a battle, which probably means banishing the opponent's monster, which might not always happen, but it's potent nonetheless.

No Mighty Shouter. The effect triggers even when the other creature doesn't get banished.

It is a pretty decent card but i'm hoping to see what Infernus does :P (hoping for some synergy) .

I am sure Infernus will be sick with this. An easy way to get him in the field vs cost. :-) Even now, you can bring in a Orion, Vile Ichor (Once it comes out), Terradragon, etc turn 5 based upon how you have your build and ramp after this guy comes in turn 4. Deck possibilities are endless for me currently. Mind you, I don't have all the cards yet, but playtesting this with what we have and know, was pretty cool.

The effect requires it to win a battle, but when would it win a battle and the creature not be banished?

Cards that say "if this card would be banished, do X instead" are never considered banished. Instead is actually a ruling word that means the original action never happened. So cards that go to mana or return to their hand when they die aren’t consider banished and wouldn't trigger cards like Black Feather.
At least I think that is how it goes.

No, that makes sense, and I'm not sure why I forgot about those, because I personally love Karate Carrot and Red-Eye Scorpion, that instead of being banished, are placed in the mana zone.
