So we finally see what Infernus is about and he's... uh, really really strong, and man, if there's not a Fire Bird cycle, I don't know what you'd call this Kenina after seeing Belua:

Infernus...is awesome. Keeps those chump blockers from showing up late game, but also halts bronze-arm tribe and other cards from getting their effects off as well. He is kind of a little over powered to me, but being that he is late game I guess makes up for it a little. Kenina...pretty interesting. Wondering if playing nature/fire could see both her and Belua being abused. Like the power attacker +2000 bonus she gives to dragons. Added Comment:
So each civ is getting it's own fire bird...that is interesting. Edited by Gilaflame, Feb 6 2013, 12:12 PM.

Im not really feeling these combo oriented cards. Hyperspeed dragon is a combo deck and its showing to not pack the punch it needs while these cards DO support the deck its only supported by also using combos and it all comes down to how well you open up and im not a fan of these combo decks. Fire birds are cute but i dont think its gonna make any significant differences to the decks simply because you are adding more situational combo oriented theme cards ontop of other combo pieces which cludders and can result in some untasteful hands and top decks. Im not gonna say there bad but im not gonna hype them up either until i see this full set. Oh and infernus isnt over powered, he comes out so late in the game hes gonna have minimul uses in what he stops outside of a few obvious cards. Idk just seems situational over all to me. |

13K power, Triple Breaker, banishes things upon entering and attacking. Prevents opponent from casting chump blockers. However, at 9 mana I really feel like, again, this is just a win more card. It's only going to be really viable in a dedicated Dragon Combo/Ramp deck and wont be able to see much play out of it. I feel like it's better than the green dragon we've already seen - but this isn't one of those cards that will redefine the format. Again, I'm glad they are printing these effects on non-evolution, non-fast attack creatures. It gives the opponent a turn to try and handle it before it begins devastating, so i'm not concerned with the power level of these new cards as they seem balanced. As for Kenina - Not very impressed. I'll take the green fire bird of kenina any day. |

All this new set has introduced to me so far is that its made terror pit and darkness in general a deck staple. Well played terror pits will ruin most of this new support but thats not a reason to dislike these cards i just feel there not that great and underwhelming in theory. Im not understanding the appeal here for infernus. |

Infernus is by far the best 9 cost I have seen so far. 13K power and triple breaker are nice. A pumped up version of Wrist-Rockets effect is amazing; almost like a reusable the unchained. The last effect is deviating. We could end up seeing a new type of deck, lock down, emerging before long. It certainly will help pave the way for new control decks too. Also, not only does it stop blockers and early game cards like razorhide, but it stops evos! If they can't play the bait, they can't play the evo. The new fire bird is a bit weaker than the other. Still, Fire/Nature having 2 to lower costs may help make the new dragon decks more consistent. I hope the other civs get better ones than fire though. |

Triple break is irrelavent, why? Late game. Very late game should you never be hitting 3 shields at once unless you are in a very bad spot. Just sounds nice in theory and bad in testing. Now give the unchained triple breaker and we have potentially one of thd most devastating cards of the game! Comes out earlier and usually at 2-3 shields by the time we reach 6-7 mana and 1-2 shields by turns 8+ and some duels dont even reach 8 mana. |

He's really not overpowered though, at all. Triple breaker is pretty pointless at that point in the game. Sure he can kill a 4000 power or less creature whenever he attacks or comes into the field - but since he blocks your opponent from playing those creatures it becomes a pretty dead ability quick. He's really not all that great |

Why are you guys so over hyping Infernus? Are you only looking at the card by itself or are you even trying to to theorize it used in the current meta state? Unless we get faster and better mana ramping this will remain to be a non issue for the game and won't be seen in competitive play. Tatsurion the Unchained is better, cheaper, and still remains the better choice. |

Statistic - I agree completely. I don't think many people are looking at the whole picture. They just see 13K triple breaker that kills things and doesnt let your opponent play things. |
