Here's the thing about multi civs, you need both civs unlocked. So from where I stand, mono civ decks except for purple are still too narrow and limited in function and utility and multi civs don't do a damn thing about fixing your deck as you can't even play them. Triple civ is the sweet spot while we still lack cards and mana is easy to come by and untouchable. |

I thought that if you put one of the cards in the mana, that would unlock both colors |

A multi-colored card in your mana zone will unlock both types of mana. In addition to that, the 'heart of civilization' cards will only be in active if you have a card that isn't of it's same civilization in your mana zone. For example, if you use the heart of water creature, you could put light/water cards and water/darkness cards in your mana zone without turning off the heart of water ability, but once a mono-light or mono-darkness card was put there then it would be turned off. In short, this latest set gave people less reasons to go mono-color and more reasons to go multi. That said, I do think a light enforcer deck and a water cyber lord deck and a darkness chimera deck are possible to be decent at least at a local level. |

Play and Promote Poorman's Format Check out Tzar's Poorman Decklist. Please use card tags when you post in the deck deposit. Using color tags just makes your deck harder to read and harder for people to give you feedback. Not to mention it makes it harder for newer players to see what types of decks are being played. | |

There was a cycle of creatures that got better if you had all of one civilization in your mana. [card]Silver Fist[/card], [card]Prism-Blade Enforcer[/card], [card]Reef Gladiator[/card], [card]Scavenging Chimera[/card], and [card]Drakon Warchief[/card] are the five cards in this cycle. Using them was a main draw to playing a mono-colored deck but the fact that multi-colored cards in your mana zone don't turn their abilities off as long as one of those colors is of the right civilization helps negate that. |

I think even with the new set the same mono decks we've seen before are still the best mono decks. Mono fire rush got a little boost with [card]Flame Spinner[/card] and [card]Scaled Impaler[/card]. Mono darkness got much better cards like [card]Mesmerize[/card], [card]Gregoria's Fortress[/card], [card]Soul Shism[/card] and [card]Suffocate[/card]. The other civs got some better cards too but I don't think they are enough to make mono water/light/nature worth running to compete with the top tier decks. |

I was thinking of trying something like this, actually, to use the multi-civ cards with the mono civ cards: W 3x [card]Cyber Sprite[/card] 2x [card]Cyber Trader[/card] 3x [card]Aqua Seneschal[/card] 2x [card]Emperor Neuron[/card] 2x [card]Aqua Commando[/card] 3x [card]Reef Gladiator[/card] 3x [card]Reef Scout[/card] 2x [card]Rusalka, Aqua Chaser[/card] 2x [card]Aqua-Ranger Commando[/card] 2x [card]Emperor Dendrite[/card] 1x [card]General Finbarr[/card] 3x [card]Veil Vortex[/card] D 2x [card]Bone Blades[/card] 2x [card]Terror Pit[/card] W/D 3x [card]Freakish Test Subject[/card] 3x [card]Grip of Despair[/card] 2x [card]Featherfin Stalker[/card] IMHO, it's a bit better than pure mono-Water, but not by much. I could be biased, though. I have an unhealthy obsession with Reef Gladiator.

The idea of opening terror pit and reef gladiator make that deck unplayable. |

It makes it weaker, but not unplayable. All he has to do is put in [card]Cyber Lord Corile[/card] as a 3 of and even that won't be that big of a deal. |

Was about to suggest Corile myself. Having some real removal instead of just bounce is golden for the water civ. |

I was thinking that the darkness would be the best chance but I have a mono light deck that I could rework with some of the new cards that would give me some finishing options I did not have before. |
