I met Alan and his hunting buddy Scotty Stalsby at 6 am and we went to the squirrel woods somewhere near Oakdale. Dogs hunted hard but squirrels were in den trees and very few on the outside. Alans gyp is a fine squirrel dog . She never stops trying to find squirrels and can wind with the best of the winding dogs I have been with. She is built to travel and without getting more than 200 yrds she is always busy and finds game. Alan tells me she is a lot like her sire Black Buddy who was littermate brother to Kemmers Black Jack. I have the Black Jack blood in the hybrids and know what Alan means. We did manage to get 6 on the outside on such a bad day of nothing stirring. Gator who since I got him June of last year has been off his chain 4 times counting tgoday and he was wore out when this was over. Gator was winding them also and I am proud of him considering he has not been hunted nearly enough.Alan and his friend Scotty are hard hunters and fun to be with Thanks for putting up with an old Cajun.

Thanks for the kind words that means a lot coming from a seasoned hunter with the Kemmer dogs. We enjoyed the hunt more then you could ever know, even though the squirrels didn't want to cooperator with us. Gator hunted hard and if you had time to hunt him more, a fat boy like myself would not be able to keep up.Gator is a fine dog, with great winding ability his self. I hope we get to go again in the near future and catch them moving. |

Alan made a hunt this morning with his friends Scotty and Steven. They had a better day than we had yesterday they got 12 squirrels with Tator. Steven made his first hunt with a squirrel dog so I am glad they did well. Alan didn't have Tater in the picture I am sure he was treed while they took these pics... .

Thanks for the picture . They moved a little but not real good. Steven said he had a blast and wants to go again in the near future, next time i will see if i can bring an old Cajun. He has some beautiful woods that was full of squirrel nest and squirrel cuttings. So i know we didn't hurt the population. The only down fall is ,it is also full of hogs.I always wondered how Tater would act around a hog . Today i found out that he is not scared of one he will tree right beside them. LOL We was shooting squirrels with hog sign that had mud still falling in it. |
