I don't know anything about the hybrids so I hope I don't offend anyone with my question.
Is there anything else bred to a Kemmer that is registard as a Hybrid other than a Feist? Like a coonhound? If not ,why not?
Again please don't get upset with my question, it isn't to ruffle any feathers,Just wondering, if you could breed a Kemmer to a feist to get a smaller dog for Squirl why not breed a bigger dog for, say Bear, Lion,Bobcats? Or has this already been tried?
Thanks, Devin

I think most everyone thinks that the kemmer it's self will excell on all larger game, as well as small game, so that Is probably why there is noe registry for the cur x hound or larger breed dog.

Not to say that a Kemmer x Hound cross isn't good or there isn't a place for it, because I have seen some crosses like that which made very nice dogs.

The Hybrid was started to appeal to the people who liked a smalller, sometimes closer hunting sq dog.

They breed them smaller because it doesnt take 50lb dogs to hunt squirrels if you can have the same ability in a 20lb dog.It has nothing to do with the dogs ability to do the job as a pure Kemmer Cur its for people who like smaller dogs that can do the job with the same style.
