I was over at the barn tonite about dark doing a little training with my pups & thought I would snap a couple of snap shots of some of the other feed burners we have wondering around...... This is Daisey May, she is a golden yeller saddle Mule, she is just a little over 15 hands and is a dandy for sure, she is the best natured mule I have ever been around, Riley rode her on the big St. Jude Trail ride last week, 21 miles and not a single problem, She is a dandy for sure................. This here is the 3rd generation of Spotted Horse we have raised, We sold Robert Kemmer her mama, & we bred her back to our Studd ( her daddy)so he will have a colt this fall that is a full mate to Lula Belle, She is close to 16 hands, she is not near as big as her mother but she is a big ole' pet for sure...... Here is Daisey May & Ole Tom...... Ole Tom is 26 years old this week, Tom was a grandson to Mr. Frady's ( Riley's dad) ole Studd Horse, Riley said that the bloodline on this ole horse could be traced to when his daddy was a kid, Riley is in his late 60's, & his daddy bought ole Tom's grand daddy as a colt when he was 12 years old...... That's about 80 years this blood has been on this farm, & belive you me, ole tom is still rearing to go anytime you want to get on..... out of every horse here, he's still the top dog
round these parts...... I don't remember ever going up to the barn & ole Tom not being there & I'm 32 years old........ He is standing in the field he was borned in when I took this picture......... Have a good'un..........Biggun

Nice pics of your horses and mule! Really like the looks of Daisey Mae, just wondering if you hunt off of her? |

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the comments... Roy, we never hunt off of any of our horses or mules, We hunt off of 4-wheelers around here we can over alot more ground alot quicker......... I have thought about squirrel hunting off her though in some more open, & alot flatter woods that is

Jason, you can sure tell that you are alot younger than I am! I'm thinking I would sure trust the mule on the hillsides alot more than that 4 wheeler! I would save the 4 wheeler for the flatter ground! |
