Skillet Fork Clay is from Hillbilly Mac x Double Blondie 1. Hillbilly Mac is from TargetxDouble Blondie..
Double Blondie 1 is from Gold NuggettxBlondie 4

I believe Robert told me Clay was bred by Rodney Smith. It's been quite a while since we talked about him. Can't really remember anything else from that conversation. Hope this helps some.

Have you hunted Maggie on hogs any? IS she taking to it? I know she is an open mouth track driving fool.

When I first got her I let her run around a little to get use to the place. She went around our hog pen ( about 1.5 acres). Before I knew it she was in the pen and baying the hogs, not real tight but I don't think she had ever seen one. Not sure how she got in the pen. Gary told me she would climb out of a pen so she must have climbed in the hog pen. Other than that, I haven't used her on hogs at all. She was coming in heat when I got her and I had her bred. She has two pups that will be two weeks old this Friday. She was bred to the heaviest Target-bred dog I know of.

I was hoping someone had hunted with Clay and could tell me a little about how he was. I talked to Robert and he said he was a little ill, didn't really say how he hunted.

How are the Ug X Ruby pups doing? I hate that you lost the one pup.

Pups are good. Real open. They chase my daughter and the cat and open all the way. Track Crazy at 7 weeks old. Robert said all Ug pups he had seen were like that. They would track his barn cats when he let them out at 6 weeks old lol

Maggie has raised some real nice sq and coon dogs in the past!

My male dog is out of clay. He is a pretty solid squirrel dog and not doing to bad on coon right now. I would have to agree about clay being abit on the ill side. While we had him up here, the only way to worm him was to hook his collar with a hook and hold his head to the side of the kennel to get the medicine in his mouth without him getting some fingers to go with it. Don't know how he hunted, but I really like my male and am looking forward to squirrel season coming back around. He has a beautiful bawl mouth on the tree and will kill any coon he gets his teeth on. The littermate to mine is in Bell co. Ky and she is doing a great job also. I don't know where the rest of the litter is since I got mine from my uncle when he was about 11 months old. Clay was one of the bigger kemmer dogs that I have seen. Hope that helps some.
