Earl, I use to raise, train and competed in the All Age Trials with English Pointers. I liked the Fiddler line of dogs. They were as tough as nails(horse killers) good bird dogs with a TON OF CLASS. If you could get them around the course without loosing them and a bird stopped them, you were probably going to win or place in the field trial. My buddy, Cecil Rester, is one of the top amature handler/trainers in the country. He just got back from a 3 week training trip on the North Dakota/Canada border. I really miss those trips. Riding a horse across the Dakota prairies chasing bird dogs is as good as it gets to me. I will probably fool with them agin after I retire in several years. My buddy Cecil has a gyp that is out of Joe Shadow that is out of Additions Go Boy and the Fiddle gyp I use to on. She crosses well with some of Ferrel Millers dogs. He just sold a derby last year for 5 figures. So I have access to some top pups. Sorry to ramble but I really enjoyed my bird dogs. |

mr. charles, i know what ya mean. if they was any birds here i would have a nice pointer dog standing in the kennel. but until then i guess squirrel hunting will do. there is not much prettier than a pointer dog standing point head high with that tail jacked up there. tr |

Guys, Tim has said many times over that if we still had birds and fields like when he was a boy that all we would have in our kennels would be bird dogs. He loves his Kemmers and Hybrids but he is a true bird hunter at heart. We actually have a little 6 yr old Brittany female that he plays with some. I'll be glad when he is home so he can read some of this post. Wendy |
