James & I went hunting this morning but the wind was blowing hard & it was very cloudy & with all the leaves in these tall oaks it was very hard to find the squirrels. We still got a few treed & got some good woods time for the pups.. |

The yellow pup in the pic is the fiddle gyp that I got from Lloyd. This is her 2nd time to the woods after squirrels. She stays gone more than not and you don't have to worry about tripping over her. When we got back to the truck, we waited for probably 45 minutes for her to come in. My and Connie probably walked a mile and a half or more down a gravel road coming back to the truck, and we finally drove down the road looking for her. Well Connie heard her barking quite a ways from where we came out of the woods so I started calling her and she came back in. After she was in the truck, I knew I had messed up since she wasn't tracking us and barking in one place like that. Don't know if she was treed or what, but I messed up a good chance to find out by calling her in. There were squirrels on the ground burying acorns and with her getting off by herself, there is a good chance she saw one run up a tree. Probably wouldn't matter as far as getting the squirrel, those leaves are WAY to thick right now. Thx, James |

Charlie, her sire is Craig's Dugdemona Buck. He was out of Buckshot/Sheena. Her mother is Red Stick Lil Fiddle out of Knotheads Fiddle and TJ. Old TJ was a good looking old dog. He was up here at Wintfords when he died. We hoped to get a litter out of him and tried a couple of times but he was to far around the track by that time. I don't know if there were any more 3/4 trouble dogs other than him, he was the only one that I had heard of. I just have the puppy papers right now, I haven't sent them in yet so I can't see the rest of the pedigree yet. Anyone know how the Knothead's Fiddle gyp was bred? Thx, James |
