I have had this pistol for several years so I decided to have it scoped since my eyesight is getting bad. I thought I would try it on the squirrels this season, I probaly won't hit many with it so they will have a good chance to survive. ;)

Connie, is that a Ruger Mark 11? I have one of those that I haven't even shot yet, but I had thought about fixing it up like you have done. What size and model of scope did you put on? Roy

Yes it is a Ruger Mark II & the scope is a Simmons Prohunter Handgun in a 2-6 x 32 Tru Plex . the weight of the scope is about 10 oz. The gun smith over in Bagdad,Ky. drilled & tapped it with a Weaver stainless base & then I got the rings & scope for it . The cost at the gun smith was $65.
I have shot out several coon with it before but my eyes are not as good any more so I thought I would try it this way for awhile.

This is my ruger, I have killed lots of squirrels and coon with the open sighted models but think the scope may be abit more precise with a bit of trigger time to get used to it. Off a steady rest, it groups like a rifle but kinda tough to freehand without abit of practice.

I haven't got one yet that fits the pistol with the scope but I will probably get the one like Connie has from Cabelas. It's a shoulder bandolier for scoped pistols that can also be used for belt wear and it's ambidextrous if your a lefty. James

They are right and left handed & also can be worn as a sholder holster or on your belt . They also have a piece that covers over the top where the gun is that doesn't show in the pic that can be use with it if you choose to. They are $29.99 + shipping & are real nice made.
