My wife took the pic for me so I let her name it. She always thought squirrels were ugly  . Anyway, took Wally out and left my camera at the house. Wally did the best he has done for me yet, there wasn't any leaving the tree, 2 times I had to get him off the trees that were dens. He made 5 trees and 3 had the meat. The last tree, I was on the phone with Connie, had already went to the truck and couldn't call Wally off. Walked back to the tree, almost completely dark, and had already seen the hole in the tree so I knew it was a den. Well, while putting the leash on Wally, I saw the flicker of a squirrels tale, so I went all the way back to the truck to get the gun I left there, came back and killed it, in almost complete darkness, Thx for looking, James.

"The Good" is them squirrels as in good to eat; "The Bad" is that fine pup you are hunting as in bad to the bones; "The Ugly" well that be's whoever is left I guess!! lol

James, I am proud for you and that pup. At 10 mos old, he is going to be the real deal unless you Ugly him to death!!

Take care! and thanks for sharing!!

Sounds like he's on his way to making you a dog.

I'm not much of a squirrel expert. We have the red squirrels in this part of Texas, but what's that dark gray one?

The grey one is the one that is good to eat. We have the red fox squirrels here and the greys. The greys are just smaller but 10 times more tender when fried up in the skillett. JJ

That might explain why we have so many squirrels and so few squirrel hunters around here? :D :P

James that is some good work from a young pup. Keep him in the woods he can only get better.

I plan to Calvin. I was going to hunt all day tomorrow but they are saying it is supposed to rain most of the day so I'll probably just go to work instead and hope for another short evening hunt. This weekend is our last deer season so I won't be able to get him out until next week but he has had 10 squirrels in his mouth now so maybe that will hold him over. James
