This is Hank treeing a squirrel this morning. He did a good job following it through the timber but it stopped in a big oak that still has lots of foliage and the Blind Cajun couldn't find it. I really need help finding a squirrel this year part because my eyes are not what they once were and we have not had a killing frost yet and there is lots of foliage left on many trees . At the end of the month Larry King and Teddy Bales from Tn. are coming make a 3 or 4 day hunt plus Jimino and Charles will be here I bet out of that gang someone will see good enough to find them..lol....Happy New Year.

Looks good Calvin. Around here, when hunting by myself, those dang little grey squirrels will circle the tree while I am looking for them and sometimes I won't see them until I start to walk off. James

you fellows ought to carry about 30 ft of 5/16 or 1/4 nylon rope
tie it to a small sapling if one is near, then go on opposite side of tree
& pull rope in short hard jerks.lots of time the sq. will move around to where you cansee it.

Now that is a good idea J.T. I'm going to have to remember that one. I have used an orange vest on my old dog sometimes , he stands back watching the tree when he gets to moving I just stood real still next to a tree & the squirrel would move around on my side & I would get the shot then.

Another good lookin hybrid there Calvin. Don't cuss that foilage too much. Been a while since I've seen any. Plenty snow & ice here. Suppose to be -4* below zero tomorrow morning. Been keeping Cajun Jack in barn out of the worst of the elements this yr. & last. He can't take the extreme cold very good anymore. I've retired him from woods this year. Arthritus in his hips. Still helps catch a varmint around the buildings sometimes. Not bad for being 14 yrs. Farmboy-1
