We had a headstart planting our Sweet corn and Irish Potatoes if we don't get a late freeze we should be digging Potatoes in about 3 weeks and I guess we could be eating Sweet corn early May. |

Boy that looks like paradise! We have fianally turned the corner on winter here (knock on wood) & and have warmed up in upper 30's to low 40's for several days now. Waterways running full from melting snow. Some bare ground in some areas of fields but lots of big snow banks yet that will take quite a while to melt. I probed the ground where it was bare this pm & I hit frost at about 6 in. below soil surface. But can't be too much frost cause sap in Maple trees been running since first part of March. When your eating that delicious sweet corn we will probably be getting our ground ready to plant. |

Calvin, my bride says to put her down for 300 ears of corn and if you want to get rid of more let us know, plenty of folks around her love to eat that stuff. She said to heck with feeding the coon!

If the ground would only settle up here, I would get peas and broccoli and maybe some cabbage and onion sets out. Right now my garden looks like a swamp and we are supposed to get 2-4 inches of rain between now and tomorrow evening. It will dry up sooner or later though. |
