Jimmino Thompson and I hunted last night with Rock, his Plott, Duke and Bo. Made 4 trees and took one for supper. Jimmino said when he wanted a coon to eat, he didn't want nothing else!
He said be sure to tie dog back and don't let them dog touch a hair on that coon. The dogs were now old enough to feed him! Jimmino said a man with a good coon dog and some taters can eat all winter!! ![]() Here is the master surgeon in the skinning shed with his grandson Travis. Look at the taters on the floor covered with lime to last all winter.

Here is a pic of part of our tree dog future. This is Travis Graham, Jimmino's grandson and Rock, a young plott. Travis is really making a good hand. He goes to all the trees by himself for pawpaw, handles the dog, knocks out the coon and drags rock out with coon in hand. He is going to make a good'en.![]() Duke did get a little lathered up last night!

Good looking pics Charlie, one of these days, I'm gonna skin a coon out myself and bake it up. How is Bo doing for you? I heard a rumor that he would be doing better if you would stop bumping him with the shock collar while he is running a coon .

James, when you hunt with Jimmino you had better know your dog. He spends countless hours teaching a pup to cold trail and Rock can cold trail pretty good. When Rock went past this track and Duke and Bo hit on it, well Jimmino started that bull that it ain't no coon because Rock didn't strike it. Duke started opening in just a couple of seconds about a quarter deep. Jimmino hollered "here Rock that's a deer for them dogs to get that deep that quick". While he was hollering at Rock I got out my 'electricty transfer unit' and held it high. Just as Jimmino shut up hollering at Rock and I could hear, Duke and Bo was treed!! As Jimmino would say, "I got fat off of that"! I told him thats how you tree a coon 'cur dog style'!

Jimino "suggested" that I mention it and you would know who it came from
. Sometimes it is hard to know just what a dog is doing. That pic that Connie posted from last nights hunt, Wally worked around that tree for quite awhile and finally, he half treed. It is extremly dry and is it tough to tree a coon right now. Well, we walked under the tree and when I looked up, there was a possum. I was about to call him off and scold him when he started hitting on another tree next to the tree with the possum. I crossed a ditch to see the other side of the tree and then I could see that 2 foot above the possum, on the same limb, sat a coon. I came really close to calling him off a coon, of course, I know he wasn't treed on that possum, it was the coon he was after
. That is the first time I have seen a coon and a possum on the same limb.
