After last weeks hunt, when Wiley just seemed "off" all morning long, he was back in the game today. The ranch has some doe hunts going on so we are having to hunt around them. Today, we hunted an area that I haven't hunted since last winter and it's real open and the hogs are usually scattered as they wander in search of food, so we covered alot of ground before the dogs struck. And when they did, it was Wiley and EllieMae that got it started. Wiley hit a track and EllieMae was right behind him. Boo was off in a different direction and had to play catch up. They ran the hogs well over a mile and when I raced ahead down a two track road to get there, I actually caught up to Boo and EllieMae as they crossed the road ahead of me, still on the track. I killed the 4 wheeler and could hear Wiley bayed and could also hear the hogs grunting. Boo and Elliemae went in to help, we dumped the two bulldogs and they promptly caught a nice little sow. I grabbed Boo to keep her from rolling out and we called it a day. They usually have it pretty easy, today, they had to work at it. ![]() We were getting too close to an alligator tank. Thought I'd post a picture of him for you. They say he's 12 foot, I'd say at least 10?

Atta boy Dee! Sounds like a quick, crisp hunt. A good way to end with any young dog! One Question! Why was that gator STILL ALIVE in the pic!!?

It wasn't a quick hunt, we started at 7 and didn't get him until 10:30. They are worn out puppies! And as much as I'd like to end his miserable life, he is a high profile gator on the ranch. They see him pretty much everyday. I haven't hunted that pasture since this past winter. So the gator is there yesterday, Dee hunts the pasture today, and tomorrow, the gator is gone? I think they could figure that one out real quick. <_< I am trying to talk them into it though. We ate lunch with the ranch hand and it was discussed. Now, the smaller ones aren't such celebrities. As a matter of fact, I did see about a 4 footer along with this fella. But I didn't see him when we left?

Its good to hear Wiley is doing good. Dee he will only get better with more hogs shot to him. I'd say you have a great pack in the making.Even more so when you get the young pups coming put into the pack. Good Job Dee Don't worry about the Gator I will send Creole Jack to you and he will kill the Gator just Like Tarzen does Crocks...

I have my work cut out for me, that's for sure. With Wiley and EllieMae still under 18 months, and now four pups still with milk on their lips, it's gonna be a busy Winter and Spring!
