The waining moon was shining bright earlier, the wind was howling and the dogs were putting on a show! Seen some stuff I ain't seen before! :D

In totallity we made two coon trees and looked at two coon, a suspect squirrel tree, dogs killed a beaver in the water, rock caught a possum and toted it like a retriever back to Jimmino and Calvin was freight trained by a 'wide open, wild, 70 lb plott that knocked him to his knees. I couldn't laugh cause I thought his leg was broke! Mean Jo Green ain't got nothing on Rock!

Here is a pic of the crew and Rock, Jimmino's Plott. Note that Calvin is a little "sulled-up" form the blind-side Rock put on him. I will have to say that the Cajun is pretty dang tuff to take a shot like that. The tall young fellow is Jimmino's grandson, Travis. He is really making a good coon hunter.

In all my years of coon hunting, I have never seen a dog/dogs catch a beaver in the water and kill it. I did last night. Not a good pic as I couldn't get close but it was a muddy, bloody mess for sure!

And to end the night, Jimmino and Travis cleaning tomorrow nights supper, bar-B-Q'd coon! :)

Charles I wish I would have been able to be more help going to the tree but that dog of Jiminos sure hits hard....Jimino needs to check ole Rock he has to have a dent on his body somewhere... :D ...My leg is better today I am ready for the next hunt with ya'll. I will just ride with Jimino from now on and then Rock can run into your Gator and break it.... ...I enjoyed it as usual we will do it again soon.

Looks like you guys had a fun hunt, I have never seen a dog catch a beaver either. I have seen them try tracking them around the banks & roots of the trees on the banks till they got alittle older & learned that they were not what they need to be chasing. Good thing that didn't get a good bite on one of the dogs they could make a big hole.

Charles all Calvin needs to do is add a few more things to his hunting gear when he goes with you, Jimmino and Rock like shoulder pads, hip pads, knee pads and a good helment with chin strap and nose guard. He can tie his light on the nose guard. He wouldn't necesserly have to have a number on his helment but it wouldn't hurt nothing if he wanted to. I wish I was there! I know Jimino got mad at his dog for knocking Calvin down. Don't get him crippled up....we need him to move some hogs around next time he comes up here!
