I agree with lawless 1. March is the month before my business really gets to booming and would be easier for me to get off work. I want to come to the spring hunt, but the 3rd week of April may be too late for me. |

I just assumed that since the hunt is always in April, that March in the yearbook was an error. I think that having the hunt in March does have merit, like Ben said, no leaves, and hunting might be abit better. Plus, there's no chance of it falling on Easter weekend either. |

I would love to see the spring hunt in March, I have talked to some of my hunting buddies, and they said they would come to the hunt in March.

I would think we may be obligated to have the hunt on the date they printed it in the yearbook, especially if people have preplanned their vacation time for the advertised date. Something for the BOD to think about for sure. TT. |

Accually to set the record strait on the Hunt dates, It was voted on by the membership several years ago at the Spring Hunt in Dayton to have the Spring hunt the second weekend of April and the Fall hunt in Sept. The only stipulation to this is if it ever fell on Easter weekend, it could either be moved up or back a weekend, I know it can not be the 3rd weekend as the club hosting the hunt has another function that weekend, I am going to a club meeting tuesday night about the date change, if the first weekend is not avilable then I will let everyone know after the meeting on Tues. If the yearbook said March it was a misprint, it is in April & has beeen every since the membership voted it that way, if someone wants it changed come to the meeting and bring that up............... I agree with you Tommy.I can juggle my weekend off without a lot of trouble.I'm in the trucking buisness and I don't own but 1 of them anymore and my boss(Laree)says we gonna be there if we have to hunt easter eggs on the side of the mtn.But we need to take in consideration that there are lots of people in the KSBA that have to make plans in the future to get off from work and once they are made they are or may not be changeable to different dates.Me and Laree live a little over 600 miles from Crossville and thats a pretty good weekend ,600 up,spring hunt,600 back and then back to work the next day.Beings I haul a lot of cotton to Lareda Tx. and water mellons out of the vally(Edinburg and McAllen)I realize we have people like Dee that have to make a lot more plans than some of us because its a good 1100 mile long drive from just outside of San Antonio loop to CrossvilleTn and thats more than just 2 days of plans that can't be made or changed very easily.I feel like people like Dee and others that puts the love and devotes as much time into these Kem. dogs as they do surely should be able to carry out their plans and make this Sping hunt.I know that a misprint can easily happen but I dont think people that have been makeing plans from this misprint should have to miss something they have been looking forward to all year.I realize that Dee doesn't have the first dog that will look up in a tree not to mention get up on the tree and bark, but I don't hold this too much against him ;). It would be easier for us to have the spring hunt then instead of a lot of people try to change dates and possibly turning out not being able to come at all.......Big Ronnie |

There has been some discussion as to the date of the Spring Hunt. I, personally, had planned on March because that's what the book said the date would be. If the date is not going to be official SOON I won't be able to make the vacation changes I'll need to make to be able to attend the hunt. PLEASE, BOD, MAKE A CONFERENCE CALL and let me know. Thanks a lot guys, Loyd. |

Loyd it will be Tuesday night at the earliest as the Coon Club that host the event has other events, our hunt can NOT be the 3rd weekend as they are having hunts of there own that weekend, I am going to the meeting Tuesday night & I will see if they can have it the first weekend if not then I will have to look at other locations..... Be patient people there is more to these hunts than saying were having it on so and so weekend, I have to have guides, a clubhouse, a cook for the kictchen, & Like I have said earlier for at least 7 or 8 years the Spring hunt is & is always held the 2nd weekend of April not March except when it falls on Easter Weekend & this year it will have to be moved because it DOES fall on Easter. I am Sorry I can't tell anyone the exact date but I can tell you if it is held in Pikeville, It Will Not be on the 3rd Weekend in April so I am trying for the first..... I will let everyone know as soon as possible........ |

I apprecitate the mention there Big Ronnie, but I realize the Spring Hunt is just that, a hunt! You guys do what you gotta do, if I can make it, I will.
And I have tried planning events with less logistics involved than this event, so I have some experience with the difficulties that Biggun mentioned. Biggun, keep up the good work my friend! |
